whats going on with the 240 then chris?
Slow progress mate. It's finding the time. Bought a 940 hpt for the engine, and slowly been buying bits and bobs for it. It'll get there. I'd like to see 200bhp+, I think it'd be a fun car!
All looking sweet, i love the Honda, what do they go like compared to a t5?
The atr is an awesome machine mate. My first experience of Vtec Yo! I would bet in a straight line it's faster than the average remapped 850. I need to get it back on a dyno. It was last dyno'd at 230bhp, with typhoon induction kit, and full (decat) exhaust system. Since then it's had a ported cylinder head fitted, so should be good for another 15bhp ish! Once your in Vtec its a nippy little thing! Had a drag race with a 2005 S60T5 (circa 300bhp give or take) and there was nothing in it up 100+ish (GENUINELY on a private runway!!! after a track day at Abingdon airfield)! So it's certainly not slow! And will out handle pretty much any volvo that anyone is likely to build on these forums!
i do like the 240 turbos, shame there aint any in this country lol
Yeah i know. One came up for sale a little while ago, that someone had already put a 940 turbo engine in. I almost bought it, and abandoned this project, but I like the car, its a good one. There's not many decent 240's left really!

Engine, ecu, turbo etc etc everything you need for around £1500. I considered it, but tbh it doesn't need anymore power. I thought when I got it, it would feel slow, as I've been used to 300+bhp for so many years, but it genuinely doesn't!
Nice collection of car's there Chris, you kept that 240 quiet :)
I've had it best part of 2 years now I think. Its had lowering springs, new shocks, anti roll bars, new discs and pads all round (standard twin pot calipers are very good), braided hoses, fully stripped out, and a few other odds and sods. It's just ready for an engine now! Taken it on a few track days and its a good laugh. 200bhp will see a lot of cars off, it doesn't weigh a lot believe it or not!

nice motors chris what size are the wheels on the 240 and is that with the 40 lowering springs on

Post 591581 by S70T5Chris on 2013-04-01 20:15:01
nice motors chris what size are the wheels on the 240 and is that with the 40 lowering springs on
They are 17's 7.5j 25et. Which is a mega offset for an 850 (they were on a friends 855, they stuck out past the arches!), but they're perfect for the 240! That is with the springs on yeah, the tyres are way too low profile (215/40's), so that doesn't help the look!

Post 591588 by t5 pete on 2013-04-01 20:21:05

The stance i lovley i have the 17" polaris wheels to go on myne and was thinking about fabricating some coilovers but for every day use the 40mm springs will do just fine.
i dont, i know exactly how they drive, my old one Image
Yours must of been of bad one then Frankie. I agree with Chris they are rapid as long you keep them in the right rev range. Mine was very quick up to and pass legal speeds, only reason I got rid of mine was I didn't like having to revs the nuts out of them to get the best out of it.

Post 591646 by AndysR on 2013-04-01 21:02:32

All cars looking good, love the carbon lip spoiler on the S60, 240 looks nice and I do love them in that colour, should be fantastic with 200hp turbo done. The ATR is one of the most misunderstood of the type R Hondas, used to work for Honda when these were new and I was shocked at how good they were when I first drove one, Honda actually thought about these cars quite a bit during production, LSD as standard unlike the Civic and being a 2.2 it's actually got a bit of torque unlike it's smaller siblings...
