Are the piston that are fitted in the B4204t5 engine the same as the ones fitted into the B5244t5 engine ?

Well the postman delivered these today
And as you can see the piston are the same,
The only difference is that the one on the right is 83mm dia while the one on the left is 81mm,
Instead of boring the block out too 81.4mm and spending £600 on pistons
I`m boring the block out to 83mm and spending £160 on pistons & rings
Leaving £440 in your back pocket, ya must be a happy bunny.

I would just get a 2435 block then all sorted mate nice though.i used s60r rods and pistons in my 2435 block no probs at all and also drops the compression ratio too.
Is 83mm not pushing the thiness between the bores a bit far?

The 2.4 engine is also 83mm. The liners are only a problem when stupid boost pressures are run.
