Yo guys! :D
Ive got a few things to sort out on the ole gal before I actually start doing anything, but I was just wondering what "can" be done for a few extra ponies.
Obviously I can get a rica ecu, is it advisable to then fit a MBC and crank it up a few lbs?
Long term plans will be a custom zorst and tighten her up with polybushes and braces (is a big ole barge afterall!)
Also what turbo is standard on my car?
Cheers DOODS!

if you have long term plans leave the mbc off mate, and it will have an 18t
Post 566487 by LiamT4 on 2013-01-26 15:14:16
Is it a manual or an auto? If its an auto i'd stay away from an mbc.
auto+mbc=bent rods

I'm wet behind the ears here but what's mbc? Also heard a few of you talk of a rip kit? I feel like an amateur! Lol

fitted to early T-5's the pipework is alot shorter & straighter

From what I've read it slightly improves throttle response?
As for a manual boost controller I've had experience with a bleed valve & I'm leaving that §§§§ well alone!!! Lol
From what I've read it slightly improves throttle response?
its a noticable difference
As for a manual boost controller I've had experience with a bleed valve & I'm leaving that §§§§ well alone!!! Lol
a proper MBC is alot better than a bleed valve, i'd still be using one if i hadn't upgraded to a EBC (electric boost controller)
Post 566511 by Biff on 2013-01-26 15:48:07
I had an electronic one on my primera gti-r. Was good fun but for my needs now I think a remap will suffice. I'll look into the rip kit though, if it makes that much difference for cheap £ I'll be happy.

Why am I best not to use an MBC?
I used a forge unos MBC on my old 940, nice bit of kit but was around £110

I only used mbc on my 1st 850 for a little bit, good spool up but better safe than sorry for a daily drive so stick to standard 1.

Blanks off the standard re-circ mate.
Post 566523 by Kingsford G on 2013-01-26 16:15:24
The chutter is nice I`ve heared it in merc85`s car also a good DV like frankie has is good, either way u have to blank it off.
Post 566528 by Palmer on 2013-01-26 16:25:03
Why do u have to blank it off??
So if i buy a blankin plate it will chatter? :-D

it brings all the boost in in one go therefore bending the ods is alot easier, ive done 3 engines with my forge unos, is it still on my car?....hell yeah! lol
Why do u have to blank it off??

because the car already had a recirculating valve on the turbo, this needs to be taken off and replaced with a blanking plate to get the wastegate chatter
Why do u have to blank it off??

U remove the recirc valve and fit a blanking plate and it will chatter,if u want u can fit a DV .
Post 566538 by Palmer on 2013-01-26 16:36:37

Post 566541 by Biff on 2013-01-26 16:38:46
Yeah, it won't dump (with a dv) or chatter with the standard re-circ on fella.

DV is ok and with a chutter I know merc85 had it for well over a year with no probs but I wonna do a DV to gather all the chavs around lol

My silicone hoses came with the DV outlet (although I asked without) so we plugged the hole with a dv that looks like a blue dildo! Sounds alright though for now, still arguing with sfs at minute.
Any idea who makes the plates? I've bought a forge job but my mate has an old c70 t5 he's on about making legal again.

Bloody hell I'm not suprised. 9 years ago you say? What power is that 20psi? I take it that was a chip & bleed valve, power boost valve etc. things have changed a lot since I was last modifying my car. I can't help it with this though, always wanted a t5.

Surprising really how well it picks up without spinning the death out of the Tyres. Think a decent bit of rubber is in order before I attempt the pod or such like. Impressed Frankie, I take it yours is the fastest?
