Has anyone on here fitted elec seats to a V50 (2009) before? It was on my wish list but the car I've found only has the manual heated seats installed so I am tempted to buy it anyway and get a seat elsewhere to fit. Reading other forums it looks easy enough, but I'm not sure where the best place to get a seat from will be. I've sent a message to Evolv parts, but does anyone know of somewhere else to get them and a rough cost?
Did the V50 only come with elec memory drivers seat or is there an elec option without memory function possible? If spec'd is it just the drivers seat or is the passenger one elec too?
I'm thinking if the passenger seat is elec then i might be able to find one in Europe somewhere as the price of the UK ones will get snapped up with people doing the same thing as me. Does anyone know any EUR volvo breakers?
Sorry for the long post, but last question.. is there any difference other than coverings between the R and std seats? Can the coverings be swapped over easily as the leather in mine is pretty mint?

AFAIK all seats were memory on drivers, you would need software codes, or see if you can swap airbag/heated seat wiring, and then wire seat motoring direct via inline fuse straight to battery, cost of seats would possibly be least of your worries, as control may not be in seats, but may be via canbus in a separate seat module

Probably controlled from a box marked "bacon sandwich" in the boot, which is coded to the ecu and costs £1200 to replace.

According to what i have already read, the harness is already in the main car loom and you only need to have it programed if you want the memory function to work on the key unlock / lock. Do you have any ideas where to start looking for a seat?

Yeah i know they are out there (in small numbers) but i don't know if basic elec was also an option on them. I also don't know if my R leather would fit over a seat from a non R car.

Good luck installing any new electrical component (or even swapping an existing one) into any modern Volvo without software coding!
I don't know specifically for the seats, but my experience is that ANYTHING electrical is a pain. I really wouldn't bother.
