As above, Will be fitting the later m56h box to my to my early 850. The Early box's sensor takes the ready off the drive shaft in the box.
My later box doesnt have this, I have bin told you have to wire it to the n/s cv joint.
Has anyone posted a definitive guide to doing this please, Would really appreciate the advice.
Will be fitting the engine and box next saturday, im guessing i have to splice into the abs wires to the cv joint and all should be ok??
Kind regards Gav/merc85

Do you still keep the abs wire connected to that cv joint? or do you just wire/plug the speed sensor to it and leave the abs wire un conected?

Gotta splice it in mate, keeping it all connected, just pigg-back-ing off what's there.

Its always handy to have hands on experience when confirming these mods as you wouldn't wanna take a 850 gearbox out twice in one day.
Ta peeps very helpful as usual :)

Hi guys gona hijack this thread a little bit. I have a simiar problem. I have an obd1 car with obd2 t5 wih m59 box. The engine loom has been swapped so no plug for the gearbox sensor. Ive decided to wire direct from an abs sensor to the dash cluster. Is this possible and will it work? I have been told to use the yellow/brown wire in pin a3 of the larger plug. The car has 1995 wiring in dash but 1996 clocks from 850r. Any advice would be great thanks.
