Are the TYPE R boost controller/ boost gauge package an ok purchace? Ive seen T5FRANKIE swearing by the Forge Mbc ... but they are nearly £150. Look forward to the Square burger

I got mine for 14 quid and it does the job. the more you pay, the better the quality and less likely to have boost spikes. (I had spikes).
I'd like to fit a blanking plate to mine............ Ive got vacum lines purchased too. 4mm. Would i need 5mm too??

Where did you get it??[/QUOTE] It's not that it spikes, it's a bleed valve which vents to atmosphere and only slows the reaction of the wastegate. A ball-spring valve will hold, then release at the preset pressure, opening the wastegate.

Sorry guys but I won't be able to make this one. I've recently lost my grandfather after a tragic accident and will be spending most weekends down in Devon helping my dad sort out his house and belongings or here looking after my Mum while she still comes to terms with it all. I'll try and get to the next one if there's one more before Xmas.

I'll be down as an official newbie (be nice...). Car seems all ok after a week of running, the service light is on, but it had a service in Feb...hmm. Apart from that, the usual rattle from the boot (the lid I think) and a funny mechanical groaning sound when it's cold, seems to go away when clutch is down/in neutral, only lasts a minute or two then fine. Still, at least it works...:D Scott
