Not been down the M42 for a few weeks but noticed they have now started to put the variable speed Gatso's in the occasional lane on the brackets they put in months ago.... I assume they are active, so beware guys....

Thanks for that, useful on my regular Somerset -> Nottingham run. I hate that stretch of road. It's the only section I have to drive legally.

I do Notts to Bristol every week......we may pass each other! I agree its a pain and sometimes I avoid by cutting across to M69 ( depends on where I am going from )..... You'll see the cameras on the other carriageway and they are mounted in what appears to be random lanes. I don't know if they intend to keep swapping them or whether they just haven't had them all delivered yet!!

I do Notts to Bristol every week......we may pass each other! QUOTE] What's your best time? Nottingham to Avonmouth in 1h45.
1hr 35 from Bristol to Ilkeston, so I think roughly about the same. I was quite chuffed with that until I worked out the average using my crude maths and it only comes out around 89 MPH...Oh well.
