hi all im new to vpcuk im 20 an live in cornwall this is my second v40 missed first one so much looked around long enough until i could find a cheap enough td version my which is fantastic 50mpg round town an had 57mpg an never gone wrong on me an drives like a dream apart from little ruff on a cold start an gear linkage lil bit sloppy. will be posting pics as im going with it from when i got it an while im doing stuff to it lol first thing i did was bought a set of 18's for £100 lol
(im 20 an always get asked why a volvo from mates but the thing is there built like a tank go on for ever cheap insurence cheap to run an not bad for parts an dont get pulled over every 5 minutes like i did when i owned a audi a4 tdi lol)
any advice tips or tricks or faults to look out for would be great

I get the old "its just an old bloody Volvo" crap from the guys at work, untill I take them for a spin. I let them enjoy the comfort first, then I scare tye crap out of them lol.

thanks an lol exactly the same from my mates lol an like i said i had a standered audi a4 tdi an i got pulled over 6 times in 2 weeks was really annoying me in the end i went upto police officer an said has this got a drugs marker or sumat on it lmao. do you have any cheap body styling tips lol ? when i get enough money hopeing to get the smoked phase 2 lights an indicators an clear bumper strip light covers an lower the front abit to level it out

egg-crate grill looks good on these.
I've never been pulled but that could be down to the car's history, or the fact that local plod dont have anything that can keep up lol.

never seen one can you put a link up on here for one? an yh lol profesional drivers my ass i was in my audi in fog an one turned round to follow me i didnt even know so was drivin as normal an he couldnt find or catch me on straight road for 1 mile then round about an more straight road from there lol he pulled me over 2 hours later an told me he lost me lol

ahhh yh i remember now av seen some but not many an do look nice an atm im in the middle of modding my own original grill cut all the slats out smoothing inner edge an meshing it an puttin a v40 badge in the corner costing me the price of the chrome v40 letters as got mesh for free compared to £60 for a aftermerket grill on ebay

enough scrap yards round here lol i'll just get one when i need one as kinda cant fine electric sander or wire cutters to finish it atm garage bit of a mess as got 2 peds a road legal quad in there lol looking for a swan neck tow bar atm though i have the big bit already bolted on underneath but previous owner has taken the unboltable swan neck off an local scrap yard wants me to buy the hole lot for £40 but im not payin out for hole lot when already have the bigest bit

Welcome buddy, just beware cos I had a V40 td when I joined this forum not too long ago. Now have a fuel guzzling C70 T5 which makes me poor on a weekly basis. But I smile a lot more:lol:

thanks every one an yh i had a 1.6 16v last year an with K&N on it lol fuel economy was realy bad putting my foot down £20 lasted 50 to 60mile lol but normal to lil bit of putting my foot down i managed to average 32mpg ish so glad my td averages 50mpg most the time
