8 months ago I knackered my lower back (2 slipped disks) and its caused me nothing but grief and forced me to drive Auto cars........tomorrow, bed availability allowing, I will be getting my own back (pun intended) as I'm going under the knife in a speciaslist neuro/spinal unit to have the discs cut down.
If things go tits up I will be in Rio in 4 years time throwing the discus (pun intended x 2)
On the plus side, its led me back to Volvo 5 pot magic
when its all out of the way I will be able to drive over to some meets in the future as it would be good to put faces to usernames

Good luck with that mate, I'm currently in pain with lower back and hip problems that have been bugging me for two years now but I'm too busy (or is that chicken !) to go and get it sorted !. If you're willing to go under the knife the least I should do is get myself to an osteopath !

Hi mate,
I have had low back problems for many years and have undergone a number of ops so if you want a chat/exchange of stuff give me a bell.

I wish you the best of luck during your op :-) Back pain is not nice, especially when your back just "goes" when bending over slightly and the pain is so bad you can't breathe.
Weirdly my back issues led me to the Volvo S60R in the first place. Put my back out saving some drunken fat git when he stumbled onto the DLR tracks.

I had a similar op 17 years ago. Two prolapsed discs. No doubt tech has improved greatly since then, especially in the orthapedic world so you should be fine. But yes, it friggin kills but the relief after the op was fantastic.

Hi. Surgery went well yesterday, was under for only 2 hours and rogue disks chopped back quite a bit ....revenge is a sweat thing! G8ood recovery thanks to my new mistress Madam Morphine.
Have realised on the ward tonight that the good people of St Helens and surrounding are are in desperate need of sleep apnoea services - drew the short straw as the real Darth Vader is in the next bed and he insists on sleepding with oxygen mask over face.
Spin off from the blue dye injection which they give you in xray first to help pin point where the surgeon had to cut and how deeps resulted in seconds of bemusement and amusement as blue weee bids me farewell lol.
Hoping to be discharged on Monday. thanks for the words of support guys meant a lot as i was §§§§tting myself lol
