Looking back I want to thank everyone who was so supportive when I had my stroke that was two years ago the 20th of last month. It helped me a lot to come on here and get the fingers woking again by typing insults and abuse :) As you probably know I'm still not driving due to the odd shake, two this week so far, I don't think they would let me have a motorised zimmer right now :), I even managed to have one during our daughter graduation. But without you lot to cheer me up when I was down and Martin for the encouragement I could have been in a real dark place. So thanks one and all, even if you did go and change the layout of the forum :)
Let me take you back to 11th March this year..... I had only just joined the forum, was loving the car but had found my 'knocking' (turned out to be the mounting tabs) there was an Essex meet booked for the Sunday, but as usuall I had to work :mad: I chatted to t5steve about my problem and he said he would take a look at it for me, the meet was arranged for 1400 but I couldn't make it till 1500 no worries we'll be there he said. Dead on the stroke of 1500 we pulled into the car park at the 'Dick Turpin' to find only one Volvo.....the others had all just left but Steve, who had never met me before stayed behind as he had promised he would be there. He then did his best to find the noise, removing the top of the dash in the process. Steve I would like to thank you for not only waiting for us, and doing your best to help me but being a 'Top Bloke' we have since met on several occasions and it is always a pleasure to catch up with you :beer:
I'd like to thank Graham (and Anne Marie) not only has their hospitality (including bacon sarnies) been second to none when we've met at their's before heading off to a meet, but Graham's given me some very useful, and needed parts for my car, without asking for money, or favours. Most of all, I'd like to thank Graham for saving me sooooooooooooo much money on petrol whilst following him to the last 2 jaunts we had to Essex (North Weald, and the last Essex meet) not only that, but I managed to catch up on some sleep on the way. :P
I would like to say thanks to t5Pete for all the help he has given me over the last year the man is a true gent, He has saved me a fortune on parts and labour and always makes time to help, I dare say without Pete I could well have given up on volvos and gone back to Subaru, and all he asks in return...... that I turn up with the days smokes :-)
I like this thread. I want also to thank the man, the myth, the legend T5 Pete of the shire of Wombwell. This guy gives so much assistance to the incompetent, less mechanically knowledgeable forum members and is a source of constant advice and inspiration. Being constantly abused and mocked for my physical lack of stature by him, his wife and also his daughter is but a small price to pay for knowing him and letting him help me out. Sir, I salute you and thank you for the priviledge. Im so happy I even let his dog dry hump my new wife on occasion. Remember, dwarfism is a disability not a crime!
I would like to thank a few people, M-R-P, JUDGENINJA & Oblark. Many moons ago when V70 Graham and I joined the VPC the V70 had a rattle !! V70 Graham and M-R-P were discussing the possible reasons behind said rattle and M-R-P offered to have a look at the next southern softies meet. Due to work commitments Graham could not attend and I was drafted in.....so i headed down the M3 Romsey bound..... Well to cut a long story short twas here I first encountered M-R-P, JUDGENINJA & Oblark, they were very welcoming and friendly and I had a great afternooon with them and the rattle was temporarily silenced. I always look forward to catching up with them as and when I can :hug:
Well I would like to thank ALL the great people I have met since joining VPC, Rich and Nat who do a great job, :B_thumb:and without whom there would be no VPC, Chad, who has helped me out with the wheels and along with his Uncle Benny sorted out my mounting tab problem. Steve and Rachel, Steve and Sophie, Paul and Donna,Wayne, Rob, Steve (t5steve), and all the other great people who have made all the meets I have been to so memorable. :wave23d: Then there was the man they simply call M-R-P.....what can I say, I call him up on a Friday morning and say 'How do you fancy fitting a strut brace and quick shift to my car this afternoon ?' he says 'No problem' I ask if he fancies helping to repair a scabbed alloy and polish the car he says 'No problem, I'll take half a day's holiday' I tell him I need some trim clips for the door card though I'm not sure what they look like and he scours the scrappy and turns up trumps with the goods.....oh and thats without him spending an entire Sunday afternoon on his hands and knees polybushing my wishbones and replacing my brake disks/pads ! Martin, I like to think my car is a well kept example, in good condition with sensible mods, without your skill, time and dedication it wouldn't be half as good as it is :worship: You have also become a great friend and for that I thank you :beer: cheers mate.
I'd like to thank you Graham for organising a great meet today :-) I'd also like to thank all those members that go above and beyond to help other members. Those that keep sending in great suggestions or reporting issues. The team that run this site who do a great job. Those that have kept me sane through some of the darker periods over the last few years, even if it was just a phone call to talk random §§§§§§§§. Natalie who does quite a bit here and takes quite a bit of flack and my wing men Dave and Chad who are always there when I need them whether it relates to this site or not. Love you all.

I would like to thank Rich, Nat and Chad for organising TRAX for us at the weekend, we both thoroughly ourselves, still buzzing from taking the car out on the track, thanks to Rich for telling me everything would be alright :B_thumb: Thanks AGAIN to M-R-P who came to my aid on Sunday on the way home from Silverstone, called him up from Cherwell Services as I noticed the brake pedal seemed lower than it was in the morning, he diagnosed air in the brake fluid after boiling them stopping quickly from 145mph several times :wink: Guess what.....he was spot on, bled them yesterday with fresh fluid, all now back to normal, thanks mate :beer:

Just to resurrect this thread, A BIG thanks to Qady (user name Volvo). He quietly pops up, posts a "for sale" thread or replies to a wanted thread with little fuss. I've had several dealings with him and found him to be one of the most honest and upfront people I've ever met. Recently, when I was looking for some shocks, I had a text from him saying "I have shocks". The rest is history but here's a :beer: to one of the forum's unsung heroes. Well done mate ;)

Thanks to volvokid... who went to the effort of contacting me, suggesting he lend me a fuel pressure sensor and boost pressure sensor to try on my car and sent them at no cost so that I can see if they help with a flat spot I have.

I'd like to thank M-R-P for my surprise parcel today, (some high quality cutting disks and die cutters) I'm very impressed with the cutting disk, I've used it a lot today and it hasn't worn down at all yet, the disks I've been using up till now I would have probably used half a dozen of them. EDIT: Just found them, I was paying £20 for 50 disks, the Cubitron work out at over £120 for 50 or about £2.50 each and having used one for a couple of hours today, I know where my money is going from now on.
I can get the 9" grinding disks for about 9 quid. They retail at about 13 quid... EACH! But I've tried them myself and by hell they're epic!

Thanks to Shemtek for fitting my ported cylinder head & NA cams plus other stuff. Attention to detail included repairing one of the airbox mounting points without me even mentioning it (it had been broken since I got the car but forgot about it) & changing vac hoses to braided fuel lines. And thanks to Doingitsideways too for taking almost a full weekend out to help help me move cars about. Cheers chaps! :D

Quick thank-you to those that are in charge, for some amazingly quick work, as this evening I suggested adding a 'my posts' button to the quick links menu, totally self-indulgent I know, but it makes my life easier finding my threads to update. I then nodded off, for a couple of hours on the sofa and when I a woke, it was done and fully working, Thanks again Folks, didn't think it would happen that quick, well impressed to say the least.

Thought I'd write a public thank you to Jamie at Partsforvolvo.com for sourcing me some parts from IPD for me. HD TCV, IPD Upper Engine Mount + Bracket, IPD billet lower torque mount and the IPD strut brace conversion Kit. Top notch customer service, excellent communication and were even kind enough to hold back my delivery for an extra week while there was no one at home to receive the package. Will definitely be using PFS again.
Big thankyou to V70Graham for the kind donation of his brand new and unused 90degree lambda spacer. I finally got round to fitting it tonight and even though I've insulted the Sweed with £30 of Sainsbury's so-called super unleaded, the lambda warning hasn't come back. Maybe the bulb has gone..? Big thank you to t5Pete for yet again digging out blind to help me out. Between painting, priming, masking and wet sanding he managed to fit in a clutch change on the S70R on Sunday. It would seem that the old clutch couldn't handle the power...here's hoping this new Volvo one will. Cheers big lad

I'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to James[COLOR=#000000]T5R [/COLOR]for suggesting using Footman James for my cars insurance, as you have just saved me a bundle and Jayne and myself can happily jump into any of our 5 Volvos (once there all mot'd) and drive almost anywhere like with the peace of mind of uk and european breakdown cover (not that volvo's normally need recovery) I saved £400-500 today and insured 5 cars (instead of 2) and 2 drivers for SDP and commuting to work.......BARGAIN [COLOR=#000000][/COLOR]Thanks again mate

Just heard from the bairn the new computer set up is going well - so thanks to all who helped out with the 'bairn needs a computer thread' @Claymore (big thanks for computer/bits) @Stephenevans99 @T5pete @Graemewelch forgot to add there was a bloke after the auto gearbox too, over on VOC, but he lost interested when he realised it would need picking up or courier collection arranging....I guess he thought I could stick it in my top pocket and pop down to London with it....:) offered it to him for next to nowt also
