Well the last few weeks have been awesome as i finally got a car that i have wanted for many many years a v70 t5 it needed a couple of tiny jobs like the usual tickover issue which was cured by cleaning the throttle body now it ticks over absolutely perfectly, the other was that the cruise control didn't work so i fitted a new clutch switch and it now works perfect but sadly due to being moved in my job i now have to do 80+ miles a day and i just can't keep it :(,,,,,, i have driven it like a complete grandad and the best i got was 34mpg and that was pretty bloody boring to be fair :( so i have now bought a mondeo st tdci which i have had mapped and its avereging 54mpg which is absolutely unbelievable and even when i feel the need to thrash the nuts off it i'm still getting 42mpg,,, obviously for comfort etc it doesn't compare but being a single parent i juat can't justify having such a fun car :( so for now my dream ends but maybe soon it will return....

I couldn't be without my T5, so I bought a Mondeo tdci to use as a daily, the money I save easily covers Tax and Insurance for the Volvo :)

its not by choice mate :( i grew up with Audi's everything from 90 sports and quattro's to the old 3.3 coupes and my dad once had a 83 ur quattro turbo aqnd i never ever got that sound out of my head and the only thing that sounds even close is a t5 which was the main thing that appealed to me,,, obviously if i win the lottery i will gladly pay the £20k plus for a ur lol

Word of caution on the ST Tdci watch the big end bearings they have a tendancy to spin the shells on a mapped motor

Hi
Just a question, why didn't you convert the T5 to LPG which is half the cost of Petrol to buy? For less than the cost of a replacement car you could have done that and kept your T5 and run around in it for the same price as running a diesel..?
I'm thinking of getting my T5 on to Autogas at some point.
Regards
James

James[/quote]To be quite honest mate i don't like it,,, we have a mondeo on an 07 plate at work with low miles and its had 2 new heads in the last year due to it basically melting the valves and seats, and thats with using more flash lube than is needed so don't fancy using it on a high performance car.
