1996 2.5tdi GLT 194k Fresh MOT and TAX last month
half leather, air con, tracs, all except rear windows electric, remote locking, front fogs, rear spoiler etc etc its a glt u guys know what your looking at.
I've never owned a car so long, best yet but i want a t5 now i can insure one.
its had in the last 6 months:
both bottom arms
both drop links
both cv joints and boots
arb bushes
2 services
injection pump belt and tensioners
new oversized battery
boost pipes
front brembo discs and pads
rear shoes
i have a pair of front top shock mounts for it (need to be fitted drivers side squeaks a bit)
rear pads also need fitting in a few thou but got oem ones included
i have done a few mods and upgrades to the car:
mbc runs at 1.6bar
decat side stealth exit pipe
powerflex top engine mount
jvc x-411 mp3 cd player
some well fitted tweeters and jbl door upgrades
blitz dc11 turbo timer
plasma pillar mounted boost gauge
the bit that let it down:
a smallish dent in the front of the front wing ( theres one on ebay same color £30)
a dent the size of a 50p coin on the boot lid ( the Toyota was a write off)
the squeaky top shock mount (which isnt bad but im ocd!)
the glove box handle has broke
the heaters only work on 4 (it is the switch)
ive owned her 2 years now, longest ive owned a car. she sticks to the road like a train and goes really well for a derv (quicker than most cars on the road) around town 35mpg is very easy (that's with the turbo timer)
and has done a 57mpg from Glasgow to Shrewsbury.
my old man thinks im crazy to get rid of it, but im really after a t5 now i can insure one, also separating from my partner.... only need room for 2 now,
i am looking to keep my wheels for the t5 i get as they were expensive and i really like them.
Looking for good offers shes a buit, or swap for c70 t5. thanks quys!
any questions pm me or put them here \/ \/ \/ \/ \/

I could really do with a temporary car, assuming you are somewhere in Shropshire though?
What did the car dyno at?

Im in Shrewsbury, and she has a viewing/sale on Sunday.
The dyno was done when i first got the car and was at 1.2bar.... 136whp
the car now has decat and 1.4 bar so i guess it has a dozen or so more... goes much better than it did on dyno day, better than a 530d Msport in my opinion.

That's good for an old girl!
Shame you are so far, but at least you've made me think about an 850 diesel. Good luck with the sale.

Haha, my old BMW didn't want to go when I sold it - never missed a beat but didn't want to start on the day someone came to look at it.

47mpg on the way home. Thats better than 22 in the 'R.
Should save me £500.00 per month in commuting costs:-)
Got home and the bonnet opened with bit of a tug!
However the speedometer worked fine, and now it doesn't!!

And now the speedometer is working again.
I can see my relationship with "Christine" is going to be interesting!

Is that her new name? lol
its just the wear in the key, its not got any worse since i had it.... you get used to doing the little wiggle everytime, thats why i forgot about it.
i dont know what to say about the bonnet, it had never done it before.
I hope you can enjoy the car half as much as i did Paul.
On another note im probably buying this tomorrow:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320901133105?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
as long as its running ok... i have my suspensions it may have been thrashed, but will see....

Erm, thais was for sale in Derby not far from me about a month and a half ago, he wanted £600 for it, so this guy has obviously bought it and is now selling it on, id be concerned myself, especially the quality video he has posted :/
Post 498120 by Brett855tdi on 2012-05-13 20:23:33
He claims "it drives like new and mechanically mint" paint issues on the rear quarter he says.
The video is what im not impressed with, i shall go look and if its not so good, i shall knock him down big time or leave it.
Ive spoken to him on the phone i said i didnt want my time wasting etc etc.
i shall speak my mind to him if he does :)
