Inequality of Justice ??????

Before anyone starts, I'm not a racist, but what is happening around here over the years is making me lean towards it !
Scenario 1: White lad v Black lad
Scenario 2 : Asian lad v 6 dead White lads
1, White lad goes on face book and insults Muamba. Within 2 days hes arrested and just over a week later ( today) is jailed.
2, Asian lad goes on facebook and insults the 6 dead Yorkshire soldiers. Takes over 10 days to arrest him, then eventually it goes to court where it is ADJURNED TILL JULY, and the racist charge against him is dropped !!! Just charged with a lesser charge.
Now I'm NOT getting involved over rights or wrongs of any sentence, but this shows what is happening in the Dewsbury courts. This is the same area the mad bombers came from.
Anyone else think the legal system is getting it's self into a bit of a slant ??

It does seem unfair but remember when a posh, white lad got caught urinating on a war memorial? there was outrage at the possibility of him getting sent down because he had a respectable career ahead of him, blah blah. Injustice is everywhere. Unfortunately, that's life. We could sit there with a paper and pick out the bits that annoy us the most (although some papers ONLY print the bits that will annoy us). The way I look at things is, if it's not directly making my life harder, why bother ;)

I was just about to post up about this.
All I'll say is... I'm starting to understand how those fellas picking cotton in Alabama felt circa 1850!
Racism is unfair treatment of ANY group or individual due to their race.... not just the smallest one, if the guy got banged up because he's a white guy commenting on a black guy, that's institutional racism.
I shouldn't have to feel like a 2nd class citizen in my country of birth, and neither should a black or Asian person - why can't we get the balance right ?
the people who say 'stand up against racism' are right - we should!! They may get a surprise when 10,000 pasty white folk march down the street with placards tho.

No you don't.
Remember we don't get to hear of all the details when see or read about these things and most of the papers only the bits they want us to read.
Could the discrimination here just be because one was to do with a premiership footballer, that almost died on live tv, so there was much more media coverage for it?

There's many examples of gross inequality that can be drudged up - for example the vid of the 3 Asian girls trying to kick a white woman to death (the video is just as bad as it sounds) - they all avoided a prison sentence on the basis 'they weren't used to drinking'.
Do you REALLY think 56 days in prison is appropriate for any comment on twitter ? I mean.. really ? :)

I agree completely, my point was that it's subjective. If we were to find out about every bad thing that went - on in the world, would we be able to get on with our lives? We could all pick experiences in our lives that would shock other people but to us it's just how it was or is, some may think it right or wrong but it happens and that's it.

Thats probably the best thing someone has ever said.
The point about black history month should be used for everything, sexism, homophobia, ageism etc etc.

Racism in any shapes or forms should b prevented.Anyone could've been born in any race.Justice?where is it?Public should do something about it to influence the justice system. All we do is mian.I've got fruends from diff countries and religions.I think some form of racizm sits in everyone and don't tell me it ain't.Its just the case of how strong yr consious is to step down on it and shup it up where is doll a** scambags just feed the racism in them into monster. What the chances r that person to b good when all races left from this country.I'm not english myself but am a british citizen and care about the sosiety I live in.I love diff culture and thats y we like going abroad to c diff things.I believe if we all do our best to make ppl respect each other that will work better than any justice punishment. It is us need changing instead of justice,we have to b just to each other.I everyone sits back thinking ITS NOT DIRECTLY INFLUENCING ME SO DOESNT MATTER it eventually will come around u someday. In my believ there is only one judge is THE GOD but as the only creatures who been given a freedom of choice we have to make changes in ourselfs and our cosiety.God bless.

I feel I must clarify myself again. We all have enough to worry about in life. I don't feel the urge to make life unnecessarily harder. That doesn't however, mean I turn a blind eye. Outwardly racist comments, made in conversation, weather with me or others in earshot, DOES directly affect me and my family and I don't tolerate it.
Here's my uncle Mahmoud with my cousin Aya, some may remember them from a few years back. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2125011/Jayne-Soliman-Mahmoud-Soliman-pays-tribute-to-his-British-skating-champion-wife-Jayne-who-gave-birth-after-being-pronounced-brain-dead.html Spending weeks fighting - off various reporters on the phone and outside the house and even lurking outside during the burial and wake wasn't fun but they had a job to do and, as much as I and some of my family wanted to permanently remove them from the situation, there's a time and a place for intervention. So where does a person draw the line? who's to say if a person is right or wrong for what they are prepared to stand for? I don't believe in any nondescript deity having the power to decide what happens before or after i die but I do believe I should end my time with a clear conscience.
I have broken up fights, race related or not, because that directly affects me. I've gone toe-to-toe with smackheads because I don't want my son to have to watch people shooting-up or smoking crack outside my house.
I hope that's clarified my perspective on this matter.
Martin.

Hmmm, it appears my original post has sent folk down the 'racist' line, when it was supposed to go down the 'unfair justice' route !
Now in both cases the perpertrators could have both been White or Black, the colour was irrelevant in my eyes.........what WAS was how the different cases were tret !!!!
So please dont treat this as a racial thread it ISN'T,
BUT it is a thread about inequality of Justice. :smlove2:

That's what my first reply was about, although my comments were possibly taken out of context or misunderstood, a thread like this always has the possibility of going adrift. The real problem when it comes to inequality of justice is the person handing-out the justice. As with everything, no two people are the same and what one judge may percieve to be a terrible contradiction of the law, another may see as a minor infraction.
It's all subjective and beyond the control of most.

It`s not like I lost the plot but all the offences listed above carrying a rasist caracter therefore if just by takling down on racism it would be so much less troble and I`m sure most ppl would agree with me.The power of society is unity and a contribution in a good cause. As said above judges can make diff verdict to the same case `cos they only human and influenced by emotions like everyone else so there is no real justice. If there is more respect to each other an patience there would b no troble and no need on relying on the justice system.Only we can make the difference not the justice system.
