The unit displays 'OFF' all the time and will not even let me try to enter a code. I've got the ignition key in position 1, and it displays off as soon as I switch the stereo on. Even left overnight and still the same. Please advise if this is normal or is the unit needing more than a code? Thanks.
You need to physically take the stereo out and remove all power sources from it, leave it for a few hours and "CODE" will appear on the screen. The message "OFF" appears when the code has been entered incorrectly more than three times. Providing you have the code the rest is easy ;)

The stereo has been removed from the car, and I think the code is written on top of it. If that's not the code, then I'll have to take it to be decoded. Let you know how I go on!

My local Volvo Independent has told me to leave it for upto 3 hours before it will request the code. I'm trying it later, and if it works, I need a bulb for lighting the numbered buttons, if anyone has one please?
Bulbs can be obtained from the dealers for a few pence.
Sorted the stereo! Left it for 2.5 hours switched on, and it eventually requested the code which I have, so it now works.
