Just been going through the yard and noticed this volvo in there, been in for ages just never really took much notice, though why not have a look, its an 850GLT with the 20v engine and with only 43k on the clock, the leather looks like its never been sat in, its an auto and is unfortunatly being broken by us, been sat for 3 years so wont be worth trying to get it on the road!! What's wrong with the car or was it just sat around for far too long?
its been sat for around 3 years which is a shame or i would have had it for myself lol
Why would someone just leave it parked up for 3 years, in fact why would someone park it up in the first place with such low miles, was the owner seriously ill and unable to drive it or something?
yea from what i was told he was an old bloke and did not use it much at all, at least we know the engine is basically like new lol
True but the fact it's stood around for that lenght of time not being run means it might only be good for scrap if it's started without being stripped and cleaned first...
veru true, ill see about maybe starting it on monday and see what happens lol
If you want to keep the engine I'd suggest you don't start until at the very least spraying some wd40 down the bores and winding the engine over on the starter motor without the plugs fitted for at least a min to get oil up to the head.. In an ideal world, if you wanted to do the best for the engine, you'd remove the head remove the pistons, free the piston rings, apply a smearing of engine oil to the sides of the pistons and cylinder walls, refit the pistons, refit the head with new gaskets appling oil to the camshaft bearings and lobes
