Hi everybody, Just a quick one can someone tell me where I can get hold of some locking bolts for my 850. Volvo want 2 quid short of 50. Halfords do a set of Mcgard locking bolts but dont ever seem to have any in stock. tried on the net and drawn a blank. thanks alot. Mark.

avoid the locking nuts that use a metal ribbon on the key, it is to weak & snaps easily leaving you unable to undo them. The one's with the 3 pins on they key work well
I have the ones Pedro mentioned with the 3 pins on my Mini, had them on for 4 years and no problems what so ever. I think theyt're called Tri-Lock or something.

Have checked on the ECP website and put car details in but the results turn up bolts for a 940,960 are these the correct ones did yours say 940,960 or did you have to speak to them. Am getting confused!!!!

Those have gone up to £18.95+vat now. Anyone else recommend TriLock? Other brands?
i wouldnt touch tri locks, a real pain in the ar#e. the 3 pins fall out after a wile, they twist or break cos people do them up 2 tight, they only need to be nipped up, all the cars i ever do that have tri-locks are always a bad set, damaged or twisted or pins missing, makes hard work , if people dont do them up so tight they would b ok,as would most of the other types or lock nuts,

Me and moppy have a set of locking wheel bolts sitting in the garage doing nothing if you are interested? We were going to put them on ebay but never got round to it. I'll post up some pics.

They look a little 'budget' and that metal looks malleable... does the key fit well, I'm concerned that it might start to round off those grooves. Do you think the key is unique? Cheers :)
We have two sets for sale, one is as pictured below and the other set is still on the car. The ones below are made by Mc guard.

Had a chat with the eBay seller of the ones I posted above, and even he couldn't recommend them (no disrespect barberecpw) 'cos he said they'd take 2 mins vs 10 to remove compared to McGards. Trilock seem universally poopooed. So it's getting more of the b*ggers I spent last week removing :cuckoo: I'll be putting extra copper grease on from now!
basically...its like this, in referance to the post and responce to my post. put 2 sets of locking nuts by 2 differant manufacturers.. I dont live in a bad area, as soon as i move, another set is going on, and remember,,its easyer to nick the car than piss about with the lockin nuts.. so if somebody wants your wheels..and youve got good nuts, they will nick the car..otherwise most wont bother... if you`ve got a set of nuts on there, its better than no.

Here is the other set, the locker seems to be a better fit than the other set of locker, basically it has 4 thick prongs that ensures a good fit.
We will be selling both sets if anyone on here is interested?
Many thanks Waxworks, but I got a good deal from Salvo on Tuesday. I'm sure someone will be after some, especially as barberecpw quite rightly points out that having two different sets on there is prudent. (I now plan to do the same, as I have three left from my original set)
Iv'e just bought some proper Volvo ones.
Mine are like large allen bolts. No idea what they are called, where they came from etc but they work well :)

They are very good but you have to make sure the locking nut key is on properly other wise they will round off and then you cant get them off. Any hint of rust on a locking nut means time to replace....

Any hint of rust on a locking nut means time to replace....[/QUOTE] i have o.e volvo ones and use red grease on my thread ends(same as brake caliper slider grease) withstands the heat upto 350c and is waterproof so stops on for ages
I have McGards on mine sourced from Halfrauds but they did need to order them. They work well. I always make a point of removing them and putting back the original nuts before sending the car for service, tyres etc so someone with an air wrench doesn't round them off!!! Had no problems with them in over twelve months on the car
