on my road trip holiday about 80 miles into the journey the engine electronic system light came on and stayed on through out my holiday for a week then on my way home it went off again? any ideas? the car was running fine when it was on/off so unsure what to look for
the fault code will still be stored even tho the lights gone off

mine does exactly the same thing as yours but in addition to yours it seems to come on when the fuel is low too, i had my codes read with vct2000 and it told me it was throttle pedal and knock sensors, changed these but still does it, as already said u need to get codes read with volvo software as i will be getting mine read again soon.
MIne did this, had the codes read. Needed a new coolant sensor & thermostat. 2 software updates one for engine and one for gearbox. Bu the main thing was boost solenoid was gone/ on its way out. Get them codes read !!
