SOLD
This is my partner's car. She got it six months ago from a contact in a garage.
It was a one lady owner from Billingham in Yorkshire.
Unfortunately the service history had got lost during the transfer but when our Volvo specialist checked it over he confirmed that it was very well looked after and had new discs and pads fitted with a new exhaust.
The timing belt had been changed at 160,000 miles and the alloys looked brand new.
£1000
Please contact me with any questions you may have.

Post 339324 by claymore on 2010-10-19 22:04:53
I payd £350 for mine 18 months ago with 5 months tax and 9 months MOT, with all the upgrades it's had I would only value it at £800

Thanks for the input but since there are not many in this condition and as well looked after I think I will hold on and see what happens.

Does that 'condition' include the hole in the front bumper plastic? And why does it have etched on it 'Nov 2012' and '233k' , is that when it next needs changing? , how much mileage has it done?

Ahoy there Matt! Are you in the UK at the moment - bet you wish you weren't if you are, and if you are in the Canaries, be glad you are there and not here!

I think he was reffering to what looks like a hole in the front bumper on the left hand side as you look at it. It looks like there is a gorge/hole in it.
I think also he was asking the current mileage. It says 160k as change date on sticker and 2008 yet and 233k or 2012 for next change is etched onto the ECU plastic cover, yet 73k and 4 years isnt actually a change interval. its 80k or 10 years whichever comes first

Thanks for the explanation, the small hole in the bumper is what it is a small hole, no idea how it got there but does not effect the performance :smirk:
As for the other remark no idea where your getting this from all I know is the car has only done 177130 miles and the cars condition warrants this.

Thanks for your comments, I appreciate that it may not sell at that price but it doesn't stop people from making reasonable offers:ready2go::smileypul

Appreciated so I advertised on Pistonheads and Ebay which are getting better responses. I just thought it would be the right thing to do and give these guys a chance.

Hold out for what you think its worth mate, i had mine on Fleabay and it went up to £1500.
Bit of a strange situation though, the buyer come up from the south coast and left £500 deposit informing me he would come back for it when he could get someone to drive him back up, but he's never been back, so i still have my car and im £500 up :B_thumb:

Got to agree with comments, am on the look out for a T5 but that one with its mileage, condition, no service historyand no MOT its just not worth the asking price. I have seen better examples for way less with less mileage too. BUT if you feel you can get that asking price then hey go for it. Good Luck. Incidentally two lady drivers? I dont know many who would know what a strut brace is let alone fit one into their car.

There appears to be a bit of bitchiness going on for some reason:crazy:. You come on with negative comments regarding my asking price and that you have seen better examples elsewhere but alas have not bought one of those fine examples. One wonders if your really on the cheap side and don't have the money to afford a good example. As far as the strut brace is concerned I got that put on as well as replacing the front arm bushes and the dog guard etc. Why not put your money where your mouth is and make me an educated offer:smile:.

I don't think it's bitchiness, I just think people are trying to advise you of a realistic price, I for one don't think mine is anywhere as good as yours, but I'm not suggesting your car is worth £350, but I think a more realistic price would be £750 to £900.

I have to agree with Heyes on this one guys. There is nothing wrong with people giving their opinion...thats what a forum is all about, but lately it does seem like its getting a bit bitchy. Maybe its just the way stuff gets written (its hard to type something like your'e thinking it) but it does just feel like some people are getting a bit shouty off the top of their pedastal for no aparent reason.
The one reason I love this forum is beacause its never been like that (unlike some others) and the majority of ppl on here are fantastic. Just makes me a bit sad to see it start going the same way. :(
Sorry for the essay but just thought I'd mention it.

First thing i would do is put a fresh mot on it regardless of weather it meet your price of not.
This is the main thing i cannot under stand about some people if your selling a car, a fresh mot makes it stand out a mile than one with none or very little mot left on.

Not on any pedestal dude, just my opinion on what I have seen out there. I scour the net checking out prices etc (not buying as of yet) and when you see a better example with lower mileage and mot etc for less then yeh, you do question why someone would put a higher price on . As I said, just my opinion, if anyone is gonna take umbradge then fine. If we all agreed then the world would be a boring place. :P

Just a general observation bud and not directed at anybody in particular so please don't take offence (that goes for everyone)!
Its not just this thread I've noticed it on.
I'm not for a second saying people shouldn't put their opinions forward (thats why we're here) but maybe it just a simple matter of making sure that something reads like people are intending it to sound if you know what I mean!:)
So I apologise if I've offended anyone, that wasn't the intent and again it wasn't directed at anybody in particular, just a general observation.
:)

forums are funny places, you would think we would praise higher values for the cars we 'supposedly' love which would keep the values up but instead we slate them saying they are worth eff all.

No offence taken at all dude, as a wise man once said.......No man lives without jostling and being jostled; in all ways he has to elbow himself through the world, giving and receiving offence.
And its keeping heyes thread at the top too lol
