Looking good, any other plans/modifications in the pipeline? Always liked the 960's in particular the front end.

pleanty to come, just time + money to fuel the purchases lol.. getting her to run 100% at mo,.. then sorting the paint/body out. theres quite a bit of laquer peel going on, so a few new panels and maybe a blow over as one the lads i help'd move happens to be a painter. refurbishing a set of columbus at mo so will update asap

Will look spot on once the bodywork is neatened up. Im assuming its too far gone for t-cut then. Consodering the colour it doesnt look faded at all really.

no nothing faded just bad laquer,. bonnet is far gone same with bumper an driver door has rust issue other than that she's good

Nice!, good to see someone else with a 960. What plans you got for it?...
Post 332624 by smithy on 2010-09-21 09:14:14
full performance exhaust and headers and chip her up +filter her and you are looking at 260 to 280 bhp couple of more mild mods 300 bhp .the engine was very restricted from factory mate and has loads of potental mate.

Gotta love a 960! Can't wait until mine is "firing on all cylinders" so to speak.
Post 332760 by mk3phill on 2010-09-21 22:16:03
tc - pleanty plans dude just going thru step by step to tidy her up
smithy - i know that score so no worries! but mine is only the 2.5 not 3.0 but that's going to change in time again... id love to make the N/A screamer that the 6cyl has inside as a start point to something much madder haha
dunc- yer know the feelin i still got some runnin issues with mine as it stands, couple new sensors to change an all be sweet

dont forget full exhaust from engine back and chips oh yes the power is coming and if you can get the cams reground to the early spec 960 much better cam.then 300 bhp is getting closer and if you do a manual conversion then more power to the wheels.

Where'd you find the coilovers?, I've seen some Gaz ones on Flebay for £150 new... Also how are you going to adapt the hubs to take those alloys(being as they're 4 stud).

More to the point where are you going to put the spring? There doesn't appear to be a top spring mount with those shox and IIRC there isn't one on the chassis . . .
+1 for the wheels. I guess FK could make some wheel adaptors but if the wheels are 4x100 you might have problems cos the Volvo is 5x108 and the bolt holes will be very close.
Dr John says flog em and get some that fit . . .

smithy - i will be getting a nice cat back but as free flowing as can fit but as quiet as can be,.. just for future upgrades.. oh and she IS a manual ;)
TC/V70 - those units where hideing at a local motor factors for a while so i got them at a good price,. the sprin seats are still in the box, can just see it, the black section on top of first picture. the wheels are no problem, my mate is an engineer, well he's no more qualified than myself except has worked in precision engineering shop for near 10years. so im setting up the cad drawings and he's going to do the metal work. in short going to make adapters and be able to space the wheels out a bit too
Post 333580 by smithy on 2010-09-25 18:04:31
you lucky sod its a manual ,if i was you i would save up for a full engine back exhaust mate you will get the most gains or atleast a 100 cell racecat
Post 333685 by mk3phill on 2010-09-26 16:13:11
i know haha,. was only 2min walk from my house aswell! ill be sorting out the exhaust with a full system so thats not a problem. only issue i have is finding a chip for it?? i have looked on TB but cant find any info for chip'd ecu for 960
Post 333692 by Tomcat on 2010-09-26 16:32:27
I have details of a guy from TB that will chip a 960 ecu, trouble is he's in Sweeden so you'd need to send your ecu away for a week or two.
