hello everyone just abit of fun i took my car for a quick tune today on the rollers.i could only run 17 psi due to not being able to fuel anymore so after some s60r greens please.but anyway guess the power at the crank and torque .the car has a standard turbo cam in it .dont forget its only an 8v redblock running at 17 psi on standard ecus no chips ,dont be silly with the figuires its an old 940t at the end of the day ps old technology

getting warmer

230BHP. I reckon with the big pieces in that engine you will have decent torque.
Post 301845 by danny-R on 2010-04-12 21:13:46
270?? if it's still on the standard map, if and when is it getting hamish'd?

well put it this way the car is produing 343 pounds foot of torque at 5k rpm so guess the bhp now then .because i have a vernier pully i was able to advance the cam slightly ,and the cam is the standard t cam not the performance 1.

hamish can not do anything with this car mate ive already spoke to him about it .
Post 301857 by Dangerous Dave on 2010-04-12 21:20:30
Oh, missed this thread, so based on 343 lbft its about 326bhp?
Post 301861 by thebadger on 2010-04-12 21:22:51
I repeat from the Gen/offtop post, 283bhp.
hamish can not do anything with this car mate ive already spoke to him about it .
so do you have any other plans for it, or just keeping it on standard map?
go on then, the suspense is killing me??...

i know people are subjective about different rolling roads and different ones but i only took the car to get the fuelling to boost sorted so i now what the next step is going to be.but i dont think this figuire will be far off because my clutch started to melt and that is a uprated turbo diesel clutch.but the power was said to be 358 bhp at 6066 rpm.this turbo i fitted to the car off the v70 is better suited to the engine
Post 301868 by danny-R on 2010-04-12 21:33:27
i think you've done v well there, especially knowing there's more to be had....
137 MY ARS@!
Post 301871 by smithy on 2010-04-12 21:35:19
when i get the bigger injectors in ,240mm billet flywheel and a heavier duty clutch then get the car tuned again at the same rolling road.when the car is setup then i will get some figuies on different RR to compair the figuires so i can get an average figuire for comparion.but i will say something its pretty quick .

No kidding, Russ must be getting nervous of the potential challenger!
Thats a lot of power, I can see it being a handful.

That big turbo is going to be pumping alot of volume, little exhaust restriction and at 17psi thats alot of air. Lovely big i/c too. :) I am surprised that the stock cam allowed it to hold peak power to 6k, but the torque must be amazing!
Is it abit laggy though?
A stock F or ET is meant to be 190hp on a good day, amazing you have almost doubled it using a stock ecu etc!

i have a vernier pully so i advanted the timing abit and the RR guy and me where surprised how much power it was pushing and to burn out a td clutch too witch are good for 350 bhp was surprising .the turbo is very smooth not laggy at all due to the big piping ,big i/c,and the 960 throttle body helped alot.and now ive drove it on the road it pulls like a steam train and dont give up at all.

FRIGGING HELL...feels brutal but in a very different way to my 850, so much torque and where as mine tails of after 4k this is not peaking til 5k and still pulling strong. When there's a decent clutch in it to handle the boost it's going to be an animal lol. cheers smithy. ok off now to find a cheap 940 to bolt my spare 16t onto lol.

ok done some investigating today and i have a set of brand new injectors from hlm hamish thanks mate.they are delpi 578 cc that should fuel the 940 very well on the rollers .im also getting a clutch made by a company in leeds that do road and racing clutches ,i spoke to them about my car and said they are going to supply me with a 6 pad clutch so things are coming together ready for the next stage tune with boost set at 24 psi i wonder what the torque and bhp will be then .mmmmmmmm
