As some may know and am selling/swapping my legnum and looking for a volvo. But i have been offered this..errm interesting but i'd like to bet the insurance is sky high compaired to my £260 fully comp+protected with £150 excess. On mine. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1399423.htm I havent a clue
my old mans a Saab fan & currently got a 9-3 Aero convertible (auto) & we had to look at quite a few that were upto his standards. The interiors are a big let down on cars that were built when GM owned Saab, its only little touches like the switch decals being printed on instead of engraved like they used to be, but its enough to make the car feel cheap. I'm not sure what year GM took over but you can tell by whats on the badges, if it just says Saab then its a GM car, while genuine Saab's have Saab & Scania written on them i'd also ignore the power figures, some Saab tuners are also known to exagerate the figures as well. I'd suggest going to look at it & see what you think to the interior, & test drive it see how it compares to the VR4

yeh its a pre-GM Saab then, the never badge when they took over looks like this
as Sweden didn't want to part with Scania it had to be removed from the badge when GM brought Saab out

My old mans reg said Aero using the same search engines so i'd check what it is
Personally, and I am sorry if I offend anyone by saying this...I wouldn't buy a pre modified car from anyone unless you know the previous owner(s) and the way that they drive. In my experience people who want more power do so because they are bored with the original power meaning that they drive it hard. Because of this I would leave well alone. Some people wont agree with me put thats just the experiences that I have had, saying that though it is a lovely looking car, I really like it
As you say if you mod a car and it comes from someone you know i might be ok. Even not as the case may be. And again yep, if someone mods a car 1st ist bound to be driven to excess. Also it has had a number change..this is the other.. thanks.

Does'nt have the veggan badges and if it was one..strange,, It's like having a t5-r and putting gls badges on it. But it would be fun. I know i did it a few years ago. thanks for the info.. kev
right, got some more info (& a brochure) off my old man, & the turbo SE could be had with 3 different engine outputs. 154bhp 185bhp or 205bhp, the 154bhp had a smaller turbo while the 185bhp & 205bhp had the same turbo but had a different ECU. I'd be worried that one of the site said it was an LPT which indicates it started out as the 154bhp the Viggen was a 2.3 while all the others are 2.0
Thanks guys for all your help. It did come back from the quote, as a 2.3. a hot thingy. Probably as hot as a block of ice compaired to the legnum. lol. Think i'll keep the vr-4 till a decent volvo comes up. The gearbox alone was a grand fitted + other bits+stuff for the mot. So not worth swapping my car for the same price as my gearbox cost lol..Adding up.. £1500 I've spent on the car up to now But she does drive like a dream. Sorry but in costa-del-blackpool, You cant beat a volvo. Parts are so easy to get hold of. But (Legnum). If you lived down south, even the stoke area, legg are ok. In Blackpool a nightmare. Garages take one look and faint. Or say we'll change the plugs for £120. parts and labour. (NO WORD OF A LIE).. kev

I had 2 Saabs and loved them both, first was a Turbo soft top ( white with black top ) that was an awesome machine and then a 2.0i 3 door, it whistled when it got to 70mph it was comical.
I'd have to go with Pedro on this one thats no way a Viggen ;)
Front bumper is different for a start.
The whole body kit looks different infact.
The Viggen the black trim runs around the top of the bumper and the other is 3 inches below the top.

i did notice a few thing about the car that was to say unusual..When i did a check on the car it came back as a 2lt. turbo..errm i said..i'll let you guys carry on..thanks again lol..Not only that the insurance was double what i pay now.. 161 fully comp + 150 excess. To swap for a car that would'nt touch mine..in looks, performance, luxury, Or down right fun to drive..But here in costa del blackpool, if something goes wrong which as i remember lol....ALL CARS DO''' at some point. They are a nightmare. Compaired to the volvo which i can repair myself and get parts within minutes..The parts for the leggie has done be done over the internet,phone ordered from the other side of manchester..I'e stoke on trent etc. London no problem. Just a nightmare here.. Thats why i'm after a volvo again..
I tested a newer 9-3 aero a few weeks ago and came away quite disappointed.. It just didnt feel quick at all. It was quite a poor drive compared to the vr4 but on the plus side it looked good and came with good standard kit.
Try one of the Saab forums to clear it up! I've never heard of that model that was suggested in the description! Carlson models yes!!!

The only visual difference between the 2 engines is the sparkplug cover but sure there must be some internal difference. HOT is Saab shorthand for High Output Turbo.
thanks all for all your info. I decided not to go for it. But looking at a 1999 323 bm cabby. Not the best of weather at the moment but i do like them. Just needs a drivers seat or repair.. thansk again guys..
