My black Manual 855R is for sale.
158000 miles.
Reams of paperwork and loads of service receipts - ie 2" thick folder full of it.
3 grand spent last summer at RT mechanics comprising of cambelt, Rica Ecu, FSD's and springs, new top mounts, spring cups, drop links, wishbone bushes, powerflex top engine mount, PCV replacement,Turbo oil drain seal etc etc.
Ive since replaced the track rod ends and both complete track rods, new front brakes with brembo discs and textar pads, new rear pads, 6k HID kit, black front grille.
The whole car has been machine polished and ive replaced the drivers door due to a small amount of rust at the lower leading edge and replaced the bonnet due to stone chipping with a very good replacement due to me being very fussy.
The car wants for nothing mechanically bar the aircon needing a regas.
Tyres are all good, Dunlops SP sports up front with Pirelli's at the rear.
Clutch and rear main seal was done approx 40000 miles ago.
Pics do the talking but if your after what i would deem the best colour for an 850R and you want a manual then dont wait, ive never seen another black manual 855R for sale anywhere, im sure someone out there knows the actual build numbers but ive heard a rumour of 3 in UK spec??..
Car is located in East Sussex Nr Battle.
I want in the region of £2950 for her but will take an offer around that price.
Cheers Pete.
More pics to follow when i get some decent shots.

Well what a week, had provisionally sold the Volvo, agreed a price, arranged to take the car upto its new owner, arranged for my Father to follow me to Oxford in his car to run me back and view a couple of cars on the return journey.
It all fell through though and to top it off my Missus is being made redundant in the next two to three months!.
Off to potentially swap her for a lovely 1 previous owner Mk2 Golf Gti 16v with 52000 miles on the clock.

i can see your trying very hard to sell the car and its quite painful to watch as you almost seem desperate to sell it?
ebay, various re-listings on pistonheads and on here..
im mean this in the best possible way but your going to have to be patient, its a very specialist market and as you probably know unlike with VAG stuff only a very small percentage of people will appreciate what your car is.
just remember a 13 year old car with 150k miles for £3000 isnt really that tempting to alot of people, i really hope this sells and you get what you want for it as to me and other enthusiasts its an awesome car, but its gonna take time!
good luck
Post 224512 by tandino on 2009-04-19 09:30:37
Craig,
Not desperate!, just frustrated of being messed around!
I have people phone more than once to say they will come to view then say they can't...
Ive had people phone up from Northern Ireland, supposedly interested and finding out about travel arrangments and then go cold.
Ive had people come and drive the car and then decide its too big for their wife! - i mean surely you can decide that before wasting my time driving it?
Good new is i had someone come and see the car yesterday and subject to them getting the insurance quote in writing (theyre 19!) i think we might be onto something.
Ive also got another guy coming over today.
I realise that its a specialised car but ive never been messed about so much selling a car!.
To be honest im not fussed if it sells or not, its perfect for my family and my other half is already moaning about me thinking of selling a car that is so practical for us...
Cheers Pete.

who's craig?? LOL
i totally understand and ive been there myself, i think myself and everyone else on here want it to go to a good home as it is a rare car in mint condition.
as said i meant it in the best way possible and didnt want to be negative, for me its worth every penny and hopefully the right person will come along and see that.
thanks simon
Post 224515 by cameron on 2009-04-19 09:41:02
Sounds like you have had a few " test pilots " and " dreamers " :mad111:
All they want to do is come thrash the ass of your car as they know they cant afford to buy one themselves ;)
Ask for proof of insurance before you let anyone drive it again, if they crash it and their not insured your knackered.
Someone will see it for what it is, an iconic flying armchair as my neighbour calls it, he is 73 but he's not far off the mark :)
Hope you get her sold soon and for the price you want.

Dont really know what im going to get Simon:slap:.
I really want a Alfa GTV V6 but the boot is miniscule and i know the Missus will go mad if i buy another car that is in reality a two seater,
When i had my caged Mk2 Golf turbo she really made me sell it as we couldnt go out as a family,
The Alfa has got rear seats but the reality is even my 7yr old Son would complain of leg room i reckon!
Still your only young (ish) once!!
Might still get one!!
Cheers Pete.

Post 224540 by tandino on 2009-04-19 15:53:36
Thats between me and the buyer but lets just say very close to the asking price.
Post 224541 by Tomcat on 2009-04-19 16:08:42
Cool, didn't want an exact figure anyway, just curious what sort of money one in good condition brought. It's been worrying watching the prices tumbling on these cars, nice to see one fetch a good price again.
