changed all the alloys to anthracite and sadly was a cat d due to front bumper getting stolen

Post 219359 by bonelorry on 2009-03-21 18:24:29

so the car is an insurance write off cat D for the bumper getting stolen..................but you said when the bumper got stolen the previous owner couldnt justify the cost of a proper 850R front bumper and so got a standard 850 front bumper instead. so if he didnt claim for a bumper through his insurer then why would the car be a cat D?? the previous owner had the car since 2000, the bumper was stolen in 2001, you say the car was recorded cat d in 1999????? i was interested in this car but something sounds really dodgy to me and im totally put off buying this car.

He means it has been in a front end smash and repaired on the cheap... That wasn't too hard was it?
He means it has been in a front end smash and repaired on the cheap... That wasn't too hard was it?
LOL There is one other very obvious problem with this "story". We're all used to how cheap these cars are now, therefore how easily they are written off. However, when that Cat D marker was placed, the car was only 3 years old. It would of taken a lot more than just a front bumper to result in a write off. In fact, the same is likely to of been true when it was 5 years old in 2001. Methinks someone is (or has previously) been telling porkie-pies.
