Pretty sure its a heater control flap, as it only does it when heater set to max, so hoping its acommon prob, ie; remove radio + adjust a flap :D any links, how to's cheers Nev

Heater flaps are all servo motors controlled off the heater panel. If it's chattering you may need a new motor. They cost lots. If that's all it is I'd live with it! J
its not really bad, unlesss you hit a really bumpy bit, and then it chatters a bit if it is servo controlled, there may be room for adjustment then, i dont think new motor is needed as it works perfect from hot to cold etc
Check that both controls for the blower exhausts work properly (on & off) It could be a loose control vane. 10 min job! Remove the central fan housing & re attach the control arm. The clips are visible from inside the vents, 8 of them, prise them into the fan & pin them open with a nail or cocktail stick. Gently pull the housing out (there is a clip at the top right!) and reattach anything that needs it. Pop it back in & remove the nails to secure!
Cheers Badger, sounds about right, so i get it as i am unclipping the front vents from 8 cilps,,then does the front vent pull off, and i can see the control flap ( vane ) ?? cheers
Yeah, look just inside the vent... There will be 2 plasic slot U shapes. 2 at the top as well... Pry them up the way, they should be a real pain, but 2 thin nails/cocktail sticks will do it! Pin them open once they are up/out & do them all. Then gently work the whole vent/hazwarn console out. Top right has a clip next to the hole left for the 3 C contol port. The vent control flap is held by a really flimsy plastic arm... You may have to reattach one, or both (they tend to pop out when you remove the vents). Fitting is a reversal of removal (haynes! :lol: )!
