Not exactly far off 13 though! Take the back seats out and have another go the weight reduction might get you their!

:eye-poppi well done, you're getting closer to it every time! did you change anything to go faster or just manage to get more runs in this time? what was your 60ft? jacq.

Well done mate great time, bet it won't be long before your in the 13's, was it a good day up there, many fast cars there today????

Madness what happened to your engine ages ago? Sure I read somewhere it blew up!? Anyway well done with the time, any plans to get it into the 13's other than practice?

Post 20773 by madness on 2005-05-15 19:08:56

it didnt blow up . it bent a conrod when i was trying a digital nitrous controller. i even drove it into work afterwards despite the tapping noise from under the bonnet - 19 miles!!! the car didnt like the controller as it misfired when it was pulsing hence the problem. i still havent fitted the custom intercooler i had made last year yet!!! it is about double the capacity of the original maybe i will get around to it soon

Post 20774 by After_Shock on 2005-05-15 19:17:40

A rod is better than a full engine at least! Would doubling the size of the intercooler whilst running the standard turbo not increase lag?

Post 20776 by madness on 2005-05-15 19:19:59

having nitrous is better than having a proper antilag system so it won't be an issue

True but you cant run nos constantly!

Good show Madness, so what spec is it running just now, still exhaust, RICA, and nitrous as per before the rod bending incident. What sort of wheel power and torque? I assume the digitial controller not working properly caused it to suffer detonation and thus bend the rod? Thats you beaten Jacqs car for fastest T4 in the Uk then, *tips hat* lol. We'll have to get it back to crail now, up 25 bhp @ wheels, and 39 lb/ft than when the car ran 14.2@ 101, though it doesnt spool up as fast as it did with the MBC so that may have a slightly negative effect, we shall have to see how it goes. What was your 60ft time for the run also out of curiosity? Again, well done mate, good time. Ross

Excellent 1/4 Hun!! Practise makes perfect see! x

i think the 60ft was 2.2 or 2.1. it was just a good run where the power just hooked up with no wheel spin. it was against a hillman avenger with a calibra turbo lump - he was very surprised to get beaten by a volvo although it was close !!!!!! cheers guys moppy- still same spec on road tyres haven't ran the toyo r888's yet

You'll like the, I put my track wheels on for crail one day, but it was torrential, however it was dry when I got home again and had a go on the road with the, very impressive, slipped a bit in 1st on a launch, but not from a rolling start at idle in 1st, no wheelspin at all in any other gear, and that was with them at 30-32psi for the road, not 20psi as they should be on the strip for even more grip 2.1 , 2.2 is an impressive 60ft time,:) let us know how you find the R888's on the T4, cheers. Ross
