I've got the NSR foot brake dragging, stripped down the brakes, caliper, sliders, guides etc all healthy, piston pushed back easily ruling out the flexi, hand brake mech also good. looks as though the master cylinder has been replaced not to long ago so now thinking the abs unit could be the root of the problem.... thoughts?

what was condition of handbrake shoes. as lining can be loose, causing wheel to drag/clunk/knock/lock.......... delete as aplicable :D

shoe linings are in good condition, feel it's a problem with the hydraulics as the whole disc face is blue with the heat....

investigated further, it's had a new caliper on the other side and I've found new locally which I can get today for £56 so gonna do that :)

The 850 AWD rear calipers are based on the front calipers off the early 940.

fronts? are you sure, I've been looking at this and I think it's the same as the multi-linked rear 940, fronts are twin piston efforts... Image is what I'm after

Image is what I'm after[/quote] seems as though there were 3 different types of caliper for the fronts, one of them was single piston (girling for cars with abs from 1992 onwards) But anyway, back to the thread. Have you tried Rufe on here, see what he quotes.
