Tried downloading the latest update using the AVG controlpanel? Are you using Version8? If so dump it. Its poo. I have heard good things about comodo but not installed it yet as my AVG 7 is still updating after promising not to for the last month

Have been really p-leased with AVG 8 until this event. Have tried System Restore but that seems to turn off AVG!!
the new version isn't free anymore.. and the updates fail after a couple of weeks... You have a pm :)
Nonsense. It's still free, you've downlaoded the trial version, not the free home use version. http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-AVGAntiVir&subj=dl&tag=button With regards to the .bin message, see here: http://freeforum.avg.com/read.php?12,142806,backpage=,sv= EDIT: Just tried it, and updating appears to be working fine again now.

LOL just seen this - I had ot too this morning so I opened it up and forced a manual update which fixed it immediately, no uninstalling needed.
