Good luck mate you are going to need it i regularly argue it out with these parking enforcers and sometimes its a piece of cake and others its like climbing everest.
Is it a pay now and its cheaper ticket?? If so and you are going to pay do it early as they are very slow at processing and will allow it to drag over the allowed time and then send you a further demand.

Did you park at the wrong time & in the wrong place? If so just pay up, you're guilty so just count is as a lesson learned. If you didnt want a ticket you shouldnt have parked naughtily in the 1st place! Pay up and move on it's much less hassle -
I got done for parking out of a bay once in town but I was late for work and knew I'd get done and the fine was better than the loss of a (temporary) job financially so I coughed up quickly and lived with it :)

Do the double yellow lines end with a yellow line going directly out from the kerb at a right angle? If not then I think technically they are not double yellow lines- they have to have a beginning and an end.

It does look like you could of just been turning round, but like others have said might be worth just paying it instead of arguin cus could end up costing alot more.

Just tell the you were only stopped for a few minutes for loading/checking directions etc, and if they look to the pics the dry spot shows you had just arrived (tyre marks) and as there was a skip in front of your vehicle you deemed it a safe place to pause!!
