Found this post on the www.V70R.com forum I sometimes visit.
This is the next V70 Model due next year, with a rumour that the R will be out in 2008 with a 4.4 V8 turbo version.

Chances are it wont have a V8 in it period and if it does be highly unlikely to have any forced induction.
New R will use the I6 engine with a high pressure turbo.

I was under the impression that the new V70R would not be coming to the UK.
Coversely, the T5 variant (if it gets the go ahead) would not be sold in the USA.

If they do build an R version of it which might not be likely I think they would still bring it to the U.K, just make a much better drivers car of it next time around.
Personally I wouldnt count on a T5 version appearing at all, the new I6 engine may well replace it all together.
