Knocking noise after hard impact at meet

Yesterday at our Scottish meet in Fort Augustus i went over a hump back bridge at about 20 mph but did not realise the severity of the opposite decline and i bottomed out heavily at the other side. All seemed well after that but today when going in and out of work i noticed that i had developed a knocking noise when accelarating with any degree of lock on. Could it be a steering problem or a gearbox problem( I must add that the car jumped out of gear on impact) Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Could it just be the exhaust system has been pushed up a bit into the guard ? I had this, especially when wamr, took it to my local exahust dealer and all he did was pry it down a bit - didn't charge me either. Ac

Hi Scott, the fortunate thing is i was genuinely going slowly as it was a single track road( no more than 20mph) so if you had been behind me you would have probably been ok. drivig home would have been a different matter all together lol. The car is in the garage and i will see what they come up with.

My guess is on end links coming loose. If you hit a bump now at anything but square on then the antiroll bar tries to move the end links. I had a knock/rattle at the front on mine that was cured by tightening the end links. Jack the front up, and support the hub. Get some thin nose molegrips to bite the endlink end and a spanner to hold the bolt. Jam one of them, lie flat and kick the other to tighten.

Could be that as well, i will let you know what the diagnosis is when they deliver the news. Again thank you all for offering advice on what it could be. Some of the things that have been mentioned i would never have considered. Cheers
