In order to fund buying a P2 V70 T5 (wish me luck!), I'm selling my Silver V40 T4. It's on ebay (see ebay thread), and has been submitted to AutoTrader online and in the Yorkshire magazine, but I am more than willing to sell to a fellow member from here and negotiate a good deal :) Images can be seen here: http://www.northernscum.org.uk/aucs/t4/ The particulars are: 2001 model Volvo V40 T4, Silver 2.0 litre Engine with T4 turbocharger (NOT the earlier 1.9 T4) Car is standard and produced 210 BHP on a rolling road test. full volvo service history 2001 Volvo V40 2.0 T4 manual (210BHP at wheels), metallic silver, FVSH, 125779 miles, 5 dr, 2 x Airbag, S.I. cush, S.I. curt, Remote C/L, PAS, Heated door mirrors, CD/cassete/radio, 10 CD autochanger, Towbar (see important note below), 16" alloy wheels, ABS, TC, Air Cond, Elec. Windows, Front and rear head restraints, load cover+net+belt, spares and extras. MOT: Sep 2006, Tax: Expired Feb 06 I am selling this Volvo V40 T4, which has been looked after mechanically at all times, all services carried out by Volvo or Volvo qualified mechanics with no expense spared. I am also a member of the Volvo Owners Club, and I am also one of the owners of the Volvo 480 club of Europe, so I take looking after cars pretty seriously. This is the later model of the T4, having a full 2.0 litre engine in as opposed to the earlier models, having a 1.9 litre based engine, this has the effect of bringing it's power to a very respectable 210BHP (rolling road graph available to prove this) without deminishing it's fuel economy (up to 400 miles on a 60 litre tank, or 30.3 MPG (mixed driving)). The car has the Garratt T4 turbocharger providing some very nice punch throughout the rev range. The car is metallic silver, has has some minor scratches and scuffs, as you might expect from a car with this mileage, but it certainly doesn't detract from the visual impacy, and none of it is deeper than the laquer, so no rust will form, and these would all be very easy to remove by a professional. The car has no rust on it at all. I'd describe the exterior as very good condition for a car of this age/mileage. Mechanically the car is sound and in excellent condition; it has been fully serviced by Volvo main dealers until I bought it in September 2004, whereby I gave it one final main dealer service (inc cambelt change - i.e. it's "major" service), and since then it's been serviced regularly by my local independant Volvo specialist (ex-Volvo mechanic, serviced to the Volvo specification/timings and only uses Volvo parts). Other things that have been replaced recently to keep the car in tip top condition include: Turbo oil return seals replaced and new discs and pads all round in the last 6 months. Spark plugs were replaced only 200 miles ago. Internally, everything is in excellent condition, and everything works; the car boasts a CD and cassette stereo/radio (and some very nice sounding speakers), a 10 CD autochanger, full air conditioning, a vast array of air bags/cushions/curtains, lots of storage holes, coin holder, load cover, load net, load belt, electric front windows etc etc - everything you'd expect for a fast Volvo! This car drives extremely well - starts first time (even after standing over the winter), and is extremely sporty both in acceleration and in handling. Please don't be put off by the mileage, this engine is designed to exceed 250,000 miles, and there are several that I know of which over 300,000 and still going! This car truly is only just warmed up! Other features include: Towbar (easilly removed if needed), remote central locking, approved alarm/immobiliser, power steering, heated door mirrors, alloy wheels, front and reat head restraints (removable), special front passenger seat designed to fold VERY flat to give the full length of the car for carrying long items, split rear seat to make carrying items easier whilst still carrying passengers, traction control, electric front windows, and the optional extra of the fully computerised info centre, which shows temperature, engine temp, oil temp, MPG, average MPG, miles of fuel left etc* IMPORTANT NOTE: This car is fitted with a towbar, this was fitted by myself to provide some protection against rear impact and to be there just in case I ever needed to tow in an emergency. This car has NEVER EVER been used for towing, either via the tow bar, or even by the towing eyes. Viewing/drive can be arranged. The car is on the Wakefield side of Barnsley in South Yorkshire - CTC me via PM on here to arrange. I promise that despite some cosmetic imperfections, the sheer drive will be the overriding influence in any viewer's decision.
