Slightly confused  about MBC's. I had a Saab aero remapped by Abbotts and had a MBC on and worked great. Now got the t5 with stage 2 VT and I believe a MBC is not a good idea. Why?

Because your std BCS controls boost,if it is controlling boost well then leave it the BCS on the v/s70 are alot better at coping than the 850's.If you fit a nice exhaust and a DP with a race cat then you may find that the boost will need remapping to stop spikes because the turbo will spin up faster. Is an exhaust included in stage 2 or is that stage 1?I would leave it alone,as if there is a problem with the car the ecu can pull boost back to wastegate pressure, they are also not very nice at part throttle especially mbc's they are rubish for trying to get a powerfull FWD out of corners fast as you can get full boost at part throttle, ebcs are better as you can adjust the gain.

I am just waiting for the catback part. It was just that Adam said the boost was very sensitive and I thought the MBC would control that.

The boost isn't sensitive, but the engine is very sensitive to knock and needs to be able to pull boost back. As Elliot said, don't fit an MBC as the boost is stable with the BCS. Adam.
