Hey all, Im in the need of some speed and good fun :D (does that sound dodgy?) My C70 (non T5 :( ) is luurvly to drive and to look at and is a nice cruiser but just is a bit to scary on the good old country lanes. I know I can spend loads of ££££ to improve the handling but I think if the car is not designed for handling then its not goin to be easy to change it. So what can I get thats cheap(ish) to possibly use as a weekend car? i.e possibly cheap insurance if just used for 1 day a week. I like Volvos but have contemplated on changing for a sportier car. Dont wanna though. Looked into Lotus Elises as you can pick these up for about 9 grand now... but wouldn't be able to afford both :( Thought the caterham types cars would be nice and cheap but have seen these for 9+ grand. Plus I would like somert which is nice to look at.. just cant see any nice looks with a caterham.. hehe.

Caterhams are beautiful you heathen! Why not look at an original Mini Cooper? My sister has an old mini (non-cooper) and throws it around the backroads of Cornwall like a nutter. Cheap to run, cheapish to buy, cheap insurance and just really a gocart with a roof and way cooler than many a car on the road.

Get one of the earliest Mazda MX-5s!!!!!!!!!!

You should get a westfield, but make sure it isnt a 'normal' one, my friend owns a westfield megablade! It has the honda cbr fireblade engine in it, not one of the 2.0 litre replicas. 0-60 in approx 4 seconds! and it revs past 15,000 rpm! You can pick one up for around 9 grand.....

My volvo is in for a few repairs (balljoints n stuff) at the mo and im borrowing an MR2 turbo, the gf has a N/A MR2 its not all that quick but doesnt stop till 140 mphish and sticks to the road like glue, i thought that was fun till i borrowed this turbo version, keep an eye on ur right foot in the wet sticks like no ones business in the dry and is almost as quick as the R, and to top it off ive just seen a turbo sell for 1500 on ebay! Good fun. (p.s there both mk2's)
