One of the company car owners at my works made a bit of a mess on my passenger side door, paints a mess looks like birds cacked down it. Trying to obtain some security camera footage but im not sure its going to show much. Theres paint missing on the cuprits door which matches the same height and length of the damage on mine and was parked next to me yesterday when the damage occurred. Can some one advise me of the options avialable apart from beating the shit out of him? Regards Mike

Get the footage, prove the third party is guilty then ask them to cough up. If they don't, threaten them with the HR dept, criminal damage is a disciplinery offence with job loss potential. If no details were left, it surely is criminal damage.

Interesting, don't think the camera will catch the cuprit opening the door in to mine just parking up beside me.

Call there bluff? Get what footage you can then ask them if they want to own up as you have a tape. Or get Viking to dummy up something on photoshop, he's very talented!

Ouch. You would have thought common decency would prevail in the workplace at the very least. Alas, it is probably private land and so you would be expected to pursue through the small claims court or claim on your own insurance (think of the excess). Even though there is the principle at stake, is it worth the effort and ill feeling?

Common decency to say they'd caused the damage and own up would have been enough. I can expect this sort of thing in public car parks, shopping centres etc but when theres only 40 of us in my company and its not the first time some1 in my company has pranged my motor and not owned up but its now taking the mickey. May buy a banger and do the same to them/

firstly, take pictures of your and the other car before the evidence dissappears, then beat their @$$ . hope you get a result. i know how i would feel

Beat the s**t out a him, its quicker, & more satisfying. Unfortunately it don't get your damage fixed.:saythat:

As satisfying as thumping them is that would put you in the wrong at work and might lead to you losing your job. I favour buying a white permanent marker and writing something like " I prang cars and walk away" or worse on their windows. It comes off eventually and if you do all their windows they will probably drive home with it on at least some - for all to see. If you dont want to buy the pen just use A4 paper and duct tape on the glasswork which is what we do to illegal parkers in our small company car park. If you stick it to the windows they cant claim damage to the car and it is satisfying to see other people reading the sign and even moreso when watching themselves try and get the tape off :) Obviously you could still get into trouble if it was teh boss that pranged you :(

Some revenge could be in order but for the time being it is being discussed by my managers so i will hang fire. Gained access to the footage and sadley to say the actual camera covering the car park hasn't been recording for some time. So i have gone out of my to reset the camera up and recording again. Not having much luck at the moment.

So who's are best buffer's on the forum? I need advice on removing paint work damage like scratches etc. The damage on mine isn't too bad on inspection and looks more like the paint off the other car (darker shade of silver) which could be rmoved with products like T-Cutt (i believe) Does any one have any tips or recomendations on techniques and products which are best to use. If it makes things any easier i can take a couple of photos and post them later on. Regards Mike.

FYI the police will be useless.I had a neighbour reverse his van through my bonnet once. They didnt want to know despite there being 2 holes in the bonnet that exactly match the back of his van. I could get CSI style paint tests but only if I paid for it. Stuff a potato up his exhaust.

Kinda guessed that Baj, but thanks for the re-assurance! I have 2 options, one is i get a professional to sort at the scratches or i do it myself. I do enjoy cleaning the motor most weekends so im opting for that first and try and claim the cost of the clay, wax and polishes back at the end of it.

I've got some stuff in my garage thats VERY good at getting scratches and old paint off. I think its called G40, but Im not too sure. The Pro's use it. I'll check it out and let ya know. If you use it too hard and without water, it takes the laquar off though :slap:

If your sure its just paint left on top your paint from the other motor, with no dents or scratches. T-cut will shift it no trouble, do exactly what they say on the tin/bottle.
