greetings..............
you'll have to spend a good FEW grand to get 400 -- 500 bhp.......
you'll probably need a nice garrett turbo, me7/s60r manifold, green injectors (or bigger), uprated conrods, and you might aswell do the pistons while your at it, port out the head, turbo, manifold and throttle body, 3" exhaust all the way through.
you might want to check out russ's 850 which i think is 591bhp and jcviggen's 850 t5r which i think is 420bhp.............
good luck with your future project and theres plenty of info on here......

Send off to HLM Tuning (aka Hamish) for a remap for starters. £150 when I last looked - will give you many smiles per mile...
Welcome, by the way. And get a pic or two up as well!
KISS Rs
850R manual, RICA (who knows what?), IKEA fitted bathroom, H&C running water, Jetex chimney, pipe rack, humidore, wheels, minibar, English Tourist Board 3 Diamonds, 302mm discs, numerous shiny features, sub-atomic particle array, turn left at Sidcup when you get the chance And a T5 CD round the back too...

To be honest (and I will probably get shot down for saying this) I'd not bother chasing the big power figures. I've been in a 500bhp T5 and it needed SERIOUS modding to get the power down. I also know a couple of people who've had 400bhp+ cars and they've stopped using them for daily drives as they were just too much like hard work (heavy clutches, lots of turbo lag, etc). It's basically a waste of time unless you just want a track car and nothing else.
400bhp is also way too much for the standard suspension / brakes / tyres in these cars, but you probably know that. To be fair the stock bhp is also too much for the standard brakes if you drive it hard
If it was me I'd sling a 19T turbo on, injectors and fuel pump, intake dp and exhaust, remap, uprate the front brakes and suspension, keep the stock engine internals, and you're done with a happy 300-320ish bhp, with bags of torque, nice and reliable.
That's why I'll be happy with a target 320-340 from my T4. We're pretty much all the way there by now
Have fun!

That makes the most sense I've heard in a long time, I've had cars before that I've modded all to hell and then been disapointed that I couldn't use them as a daily driver any more. Why by a big fast comfy Volvo in the first place if your going to modify it to the point where it's no longer comfy or useable?..
