    More new bits.. lol!

I received some of the bits I need to do to complete my stage 0/service today:

5 x Volvo OEM spark plugs
    Bosch distributor cap
    Bosch rotor arm
    Bougicord (OEM) HT ignition wires
Mann airfilter (i'll stick this on whilst I clean the K&N panel filter)

I've also got a complete set of engine mounts waiting to be fitted - and I've uprated the lower tie bar (small bush) with a Powerflex item as i think this is particularly prone to wear - I'm also going to get the iPD polly bush replacement for the bigger tie bar bush as well.

I'm also waiting on delivery of my blue Samco turbo hose kit (can take up to 30 days?) though! lol! as well as some 4mm blue Samco vacuum line. I'm also getting the iPD HD TCV (when stock arrives) as i think my BCS could be shot and am also going to get the QBM CBV replacement diaphragm. I also need to get a new fuel filter and will get my injectors cleaned by Jim.

Overall it's going to be a busy fee weeks for me/the car! lol!..

LOL! Not really.. I'm trying to be more economic with this car as I've spent thousands on cars in the past and you never get it back.. Although there is a few bits and pieces I want doing on this car.

After this I'll get the suspension sorted out then look at some power upgrades! LOL!

just checked back in the IPD site and they have both the IPD HD TCV and IPD tie bar poly bush mount (large) in stock so I've ordered them.. does anyone have any experience of either of these parts?

Pang; if you want any small diameter blue silicon hose (4mm I think - suitable for actuator hosing etc) then give me a yell, I've got a couple of metres left over from my Saab days.

The original setup is enclosed so stopping heat getting in. Surely having an open setup would suck in all the heat from the turbo etc. The only benefit would be extra noise, but at the expense of losing power

seems to be pretty enclosed to me:

once the bonnet is shut how's the hot air going to get in? the stock inlet also blows straight onto the cone filter.. can't see it being an issue to be honest.. there is a video on the site showing before and after runs and there is negligible difference (in terms of intake temps) between the very good stock set up and this one..

no lid anymore, so the under bonnet heat get sucked into the cone filter. I had the k&n 57i setup on my 850 and i noticed a very small lose in power, but the noise was better lol. Took it off and used a k&n panel filter instead.

my IPD goodies arrived today (the IPD HD TCV and the large tie bar bush).. a couple of observations so far:

    * the turbo control valve seems to be very good quality.. it's also pretty heavy! (compared to the stock item) lol!.. it's very solidly built and comes with instructions and all the mounting kit gubbins

    * the large tie bar bush is not like the Powerflex items.. the compound that it's made from is a lot harder - it's very solid almost nylon like - which is good as it means you probably won't ever need to buy another one..

all in all i'm pretty happy with the items and the delivery as it was a bit quicker than what i was expecting due to the TCV being on back order.

The boring bits (still need to get fuel filter and clean my injectors):

Complete set of engine mounts (will install the IPD mount in the tie bar when I get a chance! lol! - the small Powerflex bush has already been installed):

Blue Samco turbo hoses (I was going to go for purple and be different but bottled it! lol!):

IPD Goodies (tie bar bush and turbo control valve):

I've a couple of other bits and bobs to get - but i'm almost there! - thanks for heads up about the IPD TCV Yosser! .. just need to get all the parts fitted now! lol!..

I'll be fitting all the parts and servicing the car before I install the new control valve so I don't skew any results that I see.. i'll have a chance to do proper back to back comparisons then

Surely trying just the valve on the car now would give a good comparison on how it holds boost as the leads rotor arm and cap will more than likely give you different results aswell. What size are the nipples/connectors, outside diameter on the Valve Pangster?
