My C70's come from the Uddevalla plant.
Let's be honest though, most would say they're not really Volvos.
Renault engines, fettled by Porsche, Lotus(ish) chassis and made in an old DAF factory by a bunch of Dutch stoners!
That's an advert for the EU right there!!
My collection goes from one extreme to the other.
2 x 480s, arguably the worst built Volvo ever (although I love them dearly) to the 960, probably the best there ever will be. I swear, it's actually made of the earth's core, plated with diamond!
It was all good 'til I ripped out the whiteblock and put a bloody VW derv in it!!
Does sound epic though, huh?
GOTHENBURG RULES!!

what the EU actually is, is a load of business people making ££££ loads of money
it does sound great (Tucker I mean, I'm pretty indifferent to the sound of the EU)
WRX makes all the power quite high up...nothing happens til 5k. The STi must be even more peaky. Had it up to 220 km/h today had a little bit more left
I thought I posted this before somewhere but I can't see it, anyway...Stage Zero for an S60R thou shalt be doing:
*Checks for split liners: temp gauge, hardened top rad hose, fast accumulation of pressure in expansion tank from cold, using coolant, sniff test (thanks Stribo)
*Headlight adjustment - looking pretty low
*Angle gear, haldex & rear diff oil change
*4-wheel alignment
*PCV vacuum check/replace
*Codes read/software update
*Check & replace spark plugs
*Air, fuel and oil filter service
*Trans fluid flush
*Inspect & replace vacuum lines and IC piping rubber
*Upgrade to silicone hoses where possible...hmm, do IPD sell hoses...?
*Test / replace 02 sensors
*Verify proper fuel flow using a fuel pressure tester and replace fuel pumps if needed
*Clean / replace injectors
*Clean intercooler / intercooler plumbing
*Compression and cylinder leak down test
Some from the IPD site, some from this forum (esp. LeeT5). Any advance on the above pls shout up

The easiest way to test for split liners would be to get a sniff test done.

الاختبار شم I don't know how you pronounce it.

Brief update, a small start on the stage zero...
I've checked the top hose for hardness, temperature gauge sits where it should (even with the outside temperature gauge reading 50 degrees C today):

...the coolant system doesn't appear to be pressurizing too quickly, the video below is me taking the cap off after firing up from cold...I let the temperature gauge get up to about halfway to it's normal position (gauge reading half way to vertical position), then switch off the engine & made the video.
Sniff test next. Then that will confirm if that the liners are fine, hopefully, but everything so far seems to say they are all good.
Added a V for Vendetta mask...check out the sun damage on the trim:

And so to bed...

A little visit to the main dealers today...

Out with the old, in with the new
Attachment 25875
Part number of battery for reference
Attachment 25877
Not sure if you can make out the CCA of the old battery...300! About enough to power an electric tooth brush. Vent through the boot floor refitted also....visible in the second photo to the right of the battery.
Did someone mention their R ate bulbs....
Attachment 25874
The dealers seemed to be well equipped even though all the way out here...alignment kit...

and Vida corner! Happy to see this. Car was given an almost clean bill of health, apart from headlights & 'trunk handle too low'.

Bah
Attachment 25870
A couple of jobs knocked off the stage zero & more added! The headlights are both lighting up but when switching on they will raise then lower to the lowest position and sit there.

Check the security of the level sensor. It's bolted to the rear axle on the right side. Often, the 10mm bolt comes loose or drops out. Then the sensor can't tell level of car and default fail position is lowest level.
Failing that, it just needs to be recalibrated.
Check the sensor is not seized also.

Coolant low warning...
Time for a Reggie Perrin? Another car left gathering dust in the desert...?
No, wait, the coolant level in the header tank rose back to normal as the car cooled. Over pressurizing obviously but the cap looks new...
Fluid level should drop when it cools, not rise!
