Only some very late 1996 850s (the AWD and possibly the 2.5 NA) and x70 range had the Motronic 4.4 ecus which have OBD2 compliance (and even then its only partial compliance).
Yours will have the test unit under the bonnet AFAIK
1996 Olive Green 850 AWD - Follow the Project - Forged rods, 19T, big blue injectors, 960 TB, 3.25" MAF, Ostrich, 608 binary, arduino data display, active exhaust control with Focus RS tips, 320mm front brake conversion.
1996 Nautic Blue 850 AWD - Failed its MOT, now it's a donor for the green thing.
2004 Sapphire Black S60 D5 - The new daily hack.
The only diagnostic thing i have is the obd2 port next to the cig lighter

Hmmm, looks like they moved the port inside in earlier models then, but AFAIK the M4.3 ecu won't connect anyway.

There is a simple tester you can make up to use on the OBD port, heres the link

It should work on yours. The guide is very basic and simple, you could improve the tester by soldering the connections instead of taping them.

Yes mate, it does the same as the under bonnet tester, just in the car.
Think these are the right codes

How would i reset the codes if i dont have buttons under the bonnet lol

You substitute the under bonnet tester for the in-car tester in the instructions, so you connect the test lead to pin 5 (as in the how-to) instead of pressing the button.

You could also try the app called torque on android along with a bluetooth obd device.
Works well at reading codes and for real time info but not sure if you can reset codes with it
No probs I got the idea off someone on the forum so just passing it along.
Best thing about it, the app is FREE...... will cost you a tenner for the bluetooth dongley thing mind
