Is anyone using braided lines or is it worth keeping with oringinals? I'm just about to do the brakes on the sonic and thought it's easy enough to change them over at the same time with a fluid flush.

I can't see it being an issue if they are STAINLESS.
I have a set fitted to the daily & I have a set to fit to the Restorection (been sat in my toolbox since July last year )
I always used to fit these to my bikes, so I guess old habits & all that.

I'm going with some braided lines as mine were looking perished, and they worked out cheaper than genuine.
A £55 quid saving was worth it for me, but if yours are in good nick the £75 outlay may not. Iirc Volvo reinforced their lines with the braiding on the inside and wrapped them in rubber/plastic so they offer comparable performance (don't quote me, no experience yet...).
I think people are familiar with the whole thing of new tyres transforming a car, and ragging on the old ones as being rubbish, when really they were old knackered tyres replaced with new so of course improvements will be stark.
It's the same with brakes, new pads discs and fluid will make you think the old setup was teetering on dangerous, but it's just the comparison of old and fresh.
I feel like I've offered little real insight, and said what you probably already know. With that in mind we can talk sucking eggs next too lol.
However, fwiw, I've had braided lines on non Volvo cars and loved the feel, much more positive. If you can, go for it.

I shall buy a couple of sets and crack on (knee permitting)
Had Goodrich braided lines on mine for about 4 years or so.
As long as they're fitted properly, they seem to last longer than oe ones.

Got an old discovery now.
Had them on the 850 for a few years now. As for any performance difference I couldn't really tell but that all depends on the state of the calipers, etc.
Just had to change one this year for the mot as it had a tiny little nick in the outer plastic.
