Im sure i read in the volvo book (the one that comes with the car- not the haynes) that the oil light will come on if the oil gets too hot, not sure if it will only comes on at idle...

By tomorrow I will know whats going to happen with the car, I have two options all depends on the outcome after inspection.

Yep... big issues Dave.
Im thankful however that none are as a result of any modifications or enhancements I have personally fitted and neither is it due to neglect. Bloody car gets more attention than anything else.

I know its a pain in the ass when something goes wrong but at least nearly every thing will have been replaced emlyn by the time your done with it.
It never rains but it pours? I guess some of these things are to be expected from a 16 yr old car. Nevermind, i'm sure you'll be back on the road and quicker than ever.

Sorry to hear about your car, but the way you work I'm sure you'll have it up and running again in no time at all.
Oh dear! Sorry to hear about all that dude! Are you going to fix it or will it be curtains depending on the damage?

Well I have decided what to do. I am sick of this car as I am sure it is somehow jinxzed.
The car will be broken up for parts and everything will be available.
I fancy myself another saloon again so after I have raised the funds through breaking this one I am going to sit on the money and wait for the right saloon to come along.
A shame but little option really and I cannot afford to continually keep ploughing money at the car.

i understand why you want to mate but not a saloon you will miss the loadspace especailly when you need to carry an engine/gear box etc
Gutted for you Emlyn, there does come a time though when you wonder if the car actualy wants to be on the road?.

I see what your saying Frankie, its just this car has really lost its "spark" if you know what I mean and after being recovered 3 times in just two months I cannot put any faith into it.
Perhaps a V70R who knows...

Mate sorry to hear that, im guessing you fried the block with the water loss?, is the turbo ok?, personaly i think you've built a decent car there and just about got it looking and running right, all you need to fix it is an engine which you know you can pick-up cheap enough.
Cheers

James is right there, surely it would be far easier that way. After the engine is done, there wouldn't be much left to go wrong?
If you get another one, it could start all over again.
