    Rica 280

Had the 850 Rica'd couple of weeks ago. The car pulls really well, but seems to have a bit of what seems like turbo lag. The gauge goes all the way to the end, but when kicking down it seems to have a second or two before all hell breaks loose.

Hamish did say that due to me having a MBC on he had to reset/adjust the wastegate actuator thingy. I am wondering if this has been weakend or not. Ps the MBC was removed before the upgrade.

I have replaced the spark plugs oil and air filter and the little vac elbow was replaced at HLM.

Has anyone had anything similar happen ?

    Thanks

You'll probs find that with RICA the power comes in higher up the revs to reduce wheelspin where as MBC the powers there lower in the rev range and thats what your experiencing, Its just a totally different drive and you'll just need to get used to it

I have been told that before, there is a big difference in the urgency between the MBC and the Rica, but I am sure the slight hesitation does not seem right. Whilst overtaking it has become a bit hairy, as I put my foot down and the power only comes in when I am neally past the car.

if it was weak surely hamish would have picked it up when he pre set it to 3 psi ish. i found the power came in about 800 rpm higher with the rica compared to the mbc.so if the power comes in just before 3000 rpm id say it was right.but mine is manual and i find autos do have a bit of a lag in all cars

Is it just a case of the turbo gauge taking a while to reach the end of the scale, ie slow spoolup? Have you tried economy / sports settings to see what the difference is?

Econ/sports are similar, just like before I had the Rica, just holds the gears higher up the rev range in sports.
