    Top Engine mount...where to buy?

    Says it all really!

Any suggestions for a new top engine mount?

    Volvo or poly

Everyone who likes a spirited ride says poly (easy to fit ) but the guys that really know at VT prefer the volvo one , less harsh in the cabin.

On my ME7 engine, the poly mount helped out with gear change at high revs - the noise increase, in my case, was little.

I got mine from Kalmar Union, as Partsforvolvoonline sent me the wrong one.

Mine was split and that's why I thought something was wrong with the gearbox, or cv joint, but it turns out to be a Top mount!

Just got a poly from SW autos www.swautos.co.uk easy to fit ( I couldn't be arsed with the standard one!) but you have to hacksaw the old one out carefully. Talk to Stuart there, nice chap and knows his stuff.

I have been told the Poly ones don't deform correctly if you have a front on smash.

Should I believe everything I hear? lol

I ain't crashing and I love the five pot growl too much to change it back to stock!

Interesting point - but they only move under an inch either way before metal to metal contact occurs anyhow ?!

Love the noise as well, very pronounced in the 850 !

I made a special tool out of a bit of wood and a couple of G clamps, and a 2 LB lump hammer. Went in a treat after I realised I was trying to put it in the wrong side
