If we had a little more to go on we could perhaps give you a better idea?

this guy wants to part ex on my M5 with it
You seem a man of few words. You generally buy a 12 year old car on condition. I would still pay £50 for the car you are talking about. A clearer description with pictures and comprehensive details may make it easier for people to value.

Hi,it seems the 850's are worth more than the early S70,dont know why though?.The 850's look better than the s70's,as for price I would think £750-£1500 for a decent one depending on engine size 2.0 10v/20v or 2.5 10v/20v,the 2.5 the best,10v for towing for the low torque & 20v for speed/overall power, you say 94k on a M reg, that's low, sounds like the engines just run in at those miles as there good for 200k.Without seeing pic's I would say around the £1200-£1300 price.
"850's look better than S70's" LOL

At the end of the day, it's just a matter of personal opinion/preference, i've had 850's, V70's and currently have a S70. I prefer the looks of the S70, especially the sleeker front end looks and dashboard, but like most on here, am a Volvo nut and they're all great!

Both 850 and S70 look good, just think that 850 is looking a bit dated compared to the S70.

I would argue the 850 looks better and is iconic. The S series is another Volvo - great car, but doesn't have the same credentials!

The 70 has no personality, its not as aggressive looking and just doesn't have that same appeal.

I have an 850 and an S70 myself and I have to say the S70 looks more modern than the 850 - especially inside, everyone I ask prefers the S70 as it has a softer more rounded look to it than the Bricklike 850 and the window controls are in the right place on it as well - lol
SEE FRAZ..... the S70 and 850 arguement is here too....hehe (private joke from this forums chat room....shame you missed it)
850 is a better looking car on reputation from BTCC people reminisce about the good old days...... What racing did the soft 70 series do ....?

Avoid it like the plague cos its a 10 valve and there not much cop good torque low down in the revs but bugger all top end alright if your towing caravans but not much cop if you want to give it some wellyOriginally Posted by T5 Beginner

Why would you want to buy a 10V model???? dude.Originally Posted by T5 Beginner
126 bhp only for a heavy car. They have to be thrashed to get anything out of them, assuming its a 2.0 version. IMH avoid 10v models. Get a 2.5 20v minimum if you cant afford a T5. 173bhp v (T5 225bhp). Frugal engines.
You wont really notice a difference in economy either.
Bottom line - get a T5. Dont pay more than £1500 for a good condition saloon with below 100k and full history. Make sure you get at least GLT spec for half leather and A/C. otherwise the cloth interior looks dated and bland.
