I was on this today Stew. I hadn't seen that one tho. I'll gather a few together and work out what's best like. We've not done Brum centre so it might just be an idea

I'm easy me tbh, & don't know birmingham so anywhere would be new for me, some ideas here though:
'The Electric Cinema'
https://www.theelectric.co.uk/
"...UK's Oldest Working Cinema"
Karting
http://www.teamworkskarting.com/trac...on/birmingham/
Gas Street Basin area
http://www.walkingbritain.co.uk/walk...s/walk_b/2203/
http://www.gasstreetsocial.co.uk/
"At the heart of Birmingham, the intersection of several canals provides a beautiful place for a walk, a boat ride or an evening at the restaurants and bars. Don't forget that Birmingham has more miles of canals than Venice! This place, once a thriving port area, will enchant you day and night."
Seems there is some half-decent graffiti in around Digbeth for a backdrop to any group photos (not sure if that is a recent street view shot..!)
The 'Jamie's Italians' that I've been to have been pretty good...

Right here is where we are at ...
12th December
Birmingham
Those that can make it in the day arrange a time and rendezvous point to take in Birmingham's cultural German Market. Much gluhwein and steiners of beer may be drunk.
There is now a choice for the evening. We can go tried and tested with the usual hotel/pub combi and book the christmas dinner we usually have. Or we can still go with the same type of hotel but opt for dinner at TGI Fridays (or there is an indian close by).
Those of you that are interested can you please state your preference on meal
a) christmas meal
b) Tgi
c) indian
I will be ringing Wednesday to book numbers then will be taking deposits . From Wednesday I will put up the full details etc
We need a minimum of 8-10 people for this to go ahead.

I'm easy if were around snow hill way there's a pretty good gin parlour that's a good drink stop
Our preference is
1) Indian
2) TGI
3) Christmas meal
Gin & indian fine for me, but TFI or christmas meal also fine
Haven't had a decent Indian outside of home for quite a while, I'm up for that!

If were looking at Indians there's a few good choices in Birmingham city centre from cheap and chearful mansells in digbeth to top end lassans in the jewelry quarter
And if anyone wishes to take a look at what the gin parlour has to offer

I don't doubt people will still be around
Doubt we'd get in to Lassan's going on past experience. But there are plenty in brum to go to so that shouldn't be an issue.
Gin Parlour looks ace. I've not had a gin hangover in a long while lol
I vote cheap & cheerful
Are we drinking & sleeping in separate places, I usually find this more cost effective ...meaning meal in hotel can be expensive & not necessarily very good

There's a good curry house in Balsall Heath called the Diwan. The foods good and you can park on the office car park (unless they've stopped it) 100 yrs away

Sadly I can't make but I'd recommend this place

Hotel information
Premier Inn on Broad Street
Travel Lodge on Broad Street
Basically any hotel on Broad Street is going to be your best bet. Check for ones that have parking though There are secure 24 hour car parks if you don't succeed.
I'm waiting to hear back with some solid details on the food venue but it sounds rather nice!!
