Looking at a 2001 S40 T4 MOT failure, the handbrake's goosed just wondering if it has the same set up as the larger Volvos i.e. shoes inside the disc, or if it's all done on the rear caliper.

The handbrake is on the rear callipers, quite common to seize up.
it'll just need new calipers steve. always seize up on the pivot arms not returning.
