V70 T5 bleeding.

So, the rain decided to help show me my car had a nasty leak today. Left it parked and then moved it, and there's a rainbow all over the road under it.

I didn't notice anything when I was under there the other day. The guy who was buying my 850 (off here) - reckoned it was something to do with the Turbo breather/return (common fault apparently).. said it's a simple enough job and cheap part, but can anyone point me in the right direction of some form of how to or a couple of pics so I know exactly what I'm looking at once I get it on the ramp and the undertray off :/

there is no breather for the turbo - but there is an oil return. All TD04 mitsubishi turbos are water cooled & oil lubricated.

If the turbo oil return seal is bust then it will drip oil down the pipe at the back of the block. The gasket is cheap and relatively easy to do.

The oil return is a solid pipe that descends from the turbo CHRA and enters into the back of the sump. The top end of that pipe


Genuine volvo ones has a little extra to help you locate the holes when refitting

Breather was the wrong word, it was pissing it down and I wasn't really listening to what he was saying lol

When was the pcv last done?

PCV? I've little history with the car, loads of receipts, but in terms of a service book with stamps etc - nothing.

A blocked PCV system could cause an oil leak.

i was just wondering if it was weaping from the rear main? there is also a drain hole at the bottom of the intercooler which oil can escape from

as the pistons move down it creates pressure inside the crankcase - the PCV is important to allow the pressure to equalise.
