I'll keep u posted. Wondering if removing, and re-fitting ecu has done it. Battery disconnected for 30mins to see if anything happens.

Not missing mate, no. Mate had to do his air-flow metre too. Common fault I take it?

No idea Graham. I disconnected battery for anhour and it fixed it for 50miles, just coming backon 50yards from home. It's something in the air, as Phil Colins once 'sang.'

    Mafs seem dirt cheap tho.

Cam sensor cost treble that for FTO!

Change all vacuum pipes and it can possibly be the boost control valve.

The turbo didn't pull as much as before so may be right. Where's the valve mate?

take 1 min to reset ecu. just disconnect both terminals on battery and hold them together for a minute. itll drain any power in the ecu and loose any memory it had. job done very quickly

Have you been fiddling with the boost? Mine chucked a over boost light on in 5th gear then went off about 50 miles later.
Tcv/bcs is on my list for 2014.

Not touched anything, bar carefully removing, and re-fitting ecu. Disconnected batt which fixed it for 40-50 miles but came back on.

Got dongle for obd2 on order so will see what's wrong.

    Ta for help.

If you get one of the cheapo maf sensors you will be replacing it sooner then you think the cars only like the genuine ones

I paid £200 for my genuine Bosch unit. Not had any trouble since.
I had a cheapie fuel parts unit fitted to mine when I bought it with a splutter.
Mine didn't show up the ecu light though.
