Hi all.
Has anyone/does anyone know how easy/difficult it is to remove the CEM on a 2004 V70R?
I know its location but i need to know the extent of the work involved.

You got problems with the R Lee? Sorry I have no idea.
Here's a brief description with a few pics:

Seems fairly straight forward......hth
It's under the scuttle panel on the Facelifts, not sure if that also means 04 R's or not.
the scuttle boxes on p2's earlier than 2004 can all suffer from water ingress.

The problem is only on a certain number of facelift cars. Your dealer should have checked you chassis already.
The pre facelift cems were under the dash drivers side AFAIK. Volvo stopped the facelift issue by fitting a rubber grommet in the cem plenum. I guess most cars have had that fix already.
Anyway mines an early facelift 54 plate and wasn't affected according to Volvo.
Given your issues it'd be wise to check the connections on the cem for corrosion. On the facelift one there is four different multiplugs for comms canbus etc. And a dual 30 amp feed into it.
It should be pretty easy to tell by pulling the plugs and checking both sides and the earth etc.
The CEM is basically the cars server and termination point for networking. A faulty one could definitely be the cause.
I've got a facelift one here if you need pics

Thanks Dreamer. How easy is it to get to the CEM without removal?
ie...so i can remove plugs and check for corrosion without physically removing the cem.
