S60R odd rattle from front offside wheel arch when turning left

Hi everyone, great forum with tons of useful info! I've done a search for the above problem I'm having and haven't come across anything, so....
I've a 2006 S60R and when I turn the steering wheel to left, I get a metallic sounding rattle from within the off side wheel arch. It only happens when the vehicle is moving forward and not when stationary. It's not the wheel rubbing on the arch liner, (that makes a different sound!), It happens when travelling at any speed.
I've removed the wheel and had a look for anything obvious but everything looks ok. (I'm not an expert though!).
Any tips or pointers as what to look for would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It might be you full lock stopper ,just put some grease on them like copper grease and check your inner arch steel plate

That's what he said its not. I had mrg remove mine, I get no more scuffing they said they remove them all the time

He said it's not the liner, but does sound like the lock stopper as Slrmoco said.

How hard are you turning? Does the noise differ with speed? Any chance of a recording of the noise.

(Just thinking wheel bearing at the moment but wouldn't stake my life on it).

It would be more of a rumble than a rattle.

It's only a rattle, tinny metallic, almost like a rusty biscuit tin lid being shaken. Happens at all speeds and not always on full lock. I'll try get a recording tomorrow.

Wheel bearings (when worn) drone, they don't rattle.

Sounds to me like your CV joint is breaking up. They make a metallic tinkling noise when worn and mainly when steering left or right lock. Not the end of the world. If it is, don't buy a patent part - you will regret it.

I would advise against removing the wheel arch liner. They are there to protect the inner wing. Volvo sell a metal plate that is easily fitted on the point where the tyre rubs. Its only about £15 and is held in place by a 10mm nut and a hooked tab.

Drop link might be worth a wiggle and possibly the front wishbone bush.

I have the plates in my arches. When I had the timing belt changes, they put the plate back on upside down lol. I finally put it back the right way last week.
