    Hi,

I had to take the top half of the dashboard off to get at the instrument panel. After that changing the bulbs to LED`s was easy. I went for red LED`s because the needles are red.

The LED`s came from my local boy racer shop - motorworld,
and are a £10 for two

The left-hand side of my heater controls didn't light up.... until yeterday when I punched the cd player because it was skipping.

It took me about 30 minutes to get the top part of the dash off and a few swear words at the Haynes manual

so to get the clocks out, do you have to take the dash apart like in the pics or was that because you were doing something else to the dash at the same time?

For all you guys that want blues, I had to be the bearer of bad news, but it won't work. The instrument needles don't light up with blue backlights (buddy of mine tried). The only way I could find to make it work is to open up the unit and put in dedicated (small) LEDs to give the needles light, and that's a royal pain.

The only way to get at the clocks is to remove half the dash !!!

Yeah, maybe it's just me, but it looks like you're having the same needle issue with the blues as my buddy here is. He managed to get around it by getting a gauge backing with blue inserts (instead of the stock green) and using white LEDs to light it. His needles still show and he's got blue gauges, it's very cool! I'm waiting for him to gear up and take pics...

(oh, forgot.. I have reds in the wagon, they work pretty good, no problems with them)
